THE FARRIERS BAR AND EATERY/HORSESHOE TAPROOM 1000m Track: SOFT 5 True |

|
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. BRUTIFUL LASS (5) has gone close to winning a race, and her last start in the spring resulted in a narrowly beaten second at Waverley. She will be a lot stronger now, and her recent trial at Foxton was very good. If she doesn't get bottled away from her inside draw over a trip that is short of her best, then she is the one to beat. PRESENCE OF MIND (8) fought on gamely for sixth in a stronger field at Ellerslie just over 4 weeks ago, and can in this company with less weight to carry, she should go close to winning. JAY (2) makes his debut with 2 public trials under his belt. If not too green, he can make his presence felt. Follow the market moves. SWIFFTY (7) improved again from a fresh up fourth to finish a neck back in second at Whanganui nearly 4 weeks ago. She meets some promising types here, but she is still a sound each-way chance. ODDS AND ENDS (1) resumed with a solid effort for second at Waverley, and with some natural improvement, he can run into the money again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Brutiful Lass to win.
