A race that lacks early pressure on paper. The maiden babies kick us off. ELEVATING (4) just ran into one better at the Gold Coast over this distance range last time out and looks to be working up to a maiden victory. Gets the services of gun hoop Maloney in the irons and this is not an overly strong affair. Should be right there at the business end. SNIPER BOOM (1) was a touch disappointing when resuming but the form he showed when last in work was good enough for a race of this nature. Capable of a much better showing. MADAME DOUBTFIRE (7) strips fitter second-up from the spell and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Top-three candidate. NIFTY'S TREASURE (6) will be rock-hard fit now and may earn some minor money. The well-related MEAN KING (2) (half to 2xListed winner Flash Aah) best of the rest on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Elevating to shed the maiden tag.
