GOING: G

"Truckies Day"29th August Handicap Div 1 1400m

Track: GOOD   Clear (Max: 16)   Rail: True.

Strong tempo with Run And Tell and Hebel leading the way over Checkthemenu. PROPHESIER (3) has always promised more than he has delivered in the past, but he looks to have taken the next step with maturity, and made it 2 wins on the bounce with an all the way victory here nearly 4 weeks ago, he came from last when winning by a short-head before that, and he is likely to adopt front running tactics here. He drops 2.5kg, and the hat-trick beckons. CHECKTHEMENU (1) did not have the best of runs here last time out and finished a well-beaten fifth without being knocked about. He has a better draw this time, and with a couple of gear changes, he can bounce straight back into the money here. RUN AND TELL (5) has yet to hit his straps in 5 starts on this track since making the move from South Australia. He was second in his penultimate start and is worth another chance in a small field. HEBEL (2) was a very easy winner here nearly 2 weeks ago and will make full use of the pole position this time. Stick with him. BEEP TEST (4) has some top 3 claims in a small field. SUGGESTED PLAY: Prophesier should complete the hat-trick.
