Genuine tempo with Strangethingdesire to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. GLENFINNAN (1) looks well placed down in grade. He turns around on the seven-day back-up, having looked a touch stiff here last week in a BM70, beaten under a length into fourth. That was his first go at 1800m and he should have plenty left in the tank given it was a dash home, expect he's very hard to hold out. STRANGETHINGDESIRE (9) has only raced twice to date, winning well on debut before a very close-up sixth (beaten 0.9L) at Bendigo. Up in trip should suit the son of Russian Camelot and he draws to control things. BLUE COWBOY (7) was only a long neck behind Glenfinnan here last week in fifth and has to have claims off that effort. OLATUNDE (10) finished ahead of Strangethingdesire at Bendigo and is racing well, Zahra on helps and he too has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Glenfinnan.
