Good early pressure anticipated with a large contingent of first starters. ARTGIRL (5) was no match for a smart winner first-up before showing improvement last time, going down by a head on the Kenso. Gets the key booking of McDonald third-up and looks ready to break through. Stablemate SNITZEL MISS (1) closed off strongly when resuming on the Kenso, narrowly missing the placings after an interrupted passage late. The draw may see her needing luck again, but with clearer running she’s capable of getting the verdict. FRONT RANK (2) is a well-bred Snitzel gelding out of In The Vanguard, making him a full brother to Group 1 winner Sword Of State. He’s been sharpened by two recent trials and should be more focused raceday with the blinkers going on. The stable excels with first starters, so he commands serious respect. SORENTINA (9) outran big odds last time when beaten under a length at Wyong. She brings a fitness edge into this and is worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Artgirl.
