NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:31 ELDERS EMMS MOONEY COUNTRY BOOSTED 3YO & UP MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
Loads of speed from Jackabrae Lad, Kissmyhanddaddy and Just Joan burning turf in the early stages. JACKABRAE LAD (3) made some steady progress last year and will be a lot stronger after his recent spell. He will eventually want more ground than this but he is fresh up and with a 3-kilo claim, he is expected to sprint well first up, especially with the aid of the pole position. Watch the market moves. JUST JOAN (9) kicked on strongly and finished a bold third when resuming at Wellington nearly 2 weeks ago. She strips fitter and with an extra furlong to travel she is capable of taking this out. NASTY STREAK (5) has run the odd good race and he will find this easier than his last run at Orange 6 days ago. He is fit and worth including in all combinations. CONVERSATIONS (1) showed a lot of courage to fight on after leading up and finishing third when resuming at Wellington just under a fortnight ago. With a touch of improvement, he can go close to breaking through in this. Stick with him.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Jackabrae Lad each-way.
2 02:06 CENTRAL WEST ELECTRICAL GOLD NUGGET 2YO HANDICAP 1100m
Anticipating a stack of early pressure with many of these youngsters facing the starter for the first time. HELL'S VIXEN (4) battled away well enough on debut at Randwick-Kensington before being put aside for a spell. She has had a couple of trials under her belt and will be ready to fire fresh up at an easier level here. SAINT PHILOMENA (9) just battled In a much stronger field at Wellington last time out. Her run for second before that is the guide to use and she is worth another chance in this. Each-way value. BROOKLYN DAISY (3) has been progressing fairly at the trials and her trainers don't often venture out to the country without bringing him some of the major prize money. The markets will be your best guide to her chances. PERFUMIST (5) won the latest of her 2 trials and only a wide draw prevents her from being the top pick. The Bjorn Baker stable is running hot and she is likely to have plenty of admirers on debut.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hell's Vixen each-way.
3 02:41 KINGS HOTEL COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200m
Cracking early tempo with Whirled War and Forbidden Gemstone leading the way. ALWAYS A SAINT (1) made the move from Victoria last year and debuted with an easy win fresh up at Dubbo 18 days ago, scoring by well over a length. He will only get better with more racing and looks capable of winning another race straight away. POPPY'S GIRL (7) is resuming from a spell and her only career win came on this track. She has some placed form fresh up and is claiming 1.5 kilos which should help. She is capable of a top-three finish but the market will be an important guide. SHARING IS CARING (2) showed promise in her last campaign and won her first race at Orange by a nose in her penultimate run. She has drawn pole position for her return and is likely to be in the finish. Each-way. FORBIDDEN GEMSTONE (4) has been knocking on the door at Canberra in all of her 3 starts this prep. She has copped another tough gate but is still worth including in all multiples in an even contest with many each-way hopes.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Always A Saint each-way.
4 03:16 KENNARDS HIRE CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1800m
Without a great deal of early pace evident O'ziggy may lead the way over Ravalawa. O'ZIGGY (5) was a beaten favourite here fresh up nearly 3 weeks ago where he made a nice move into the race before the turn but failed to finish his run-off and looked in need of the hit-out. He strips fitter and drops in class for this so is worth another chance. Follow your money. BOBBY SHIRAZ (3) is a stablemate of the top pick and gives the Bjorn Baker a strong hand in the race. A wide draw was no help to him last time out and he will relish the extra furlong on offer here. Stick with him with a drop back in grade and include in all combinations. MARENARO (4) has changed stables since his last run and a move to a country stable could be the making of this gelding. The motor is there and with the right run, he can figure in the finish. Watch the market moves. PINE VALLEY (7) ran non nicely last time out and is worth including in all multiples.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Marenaro each-way.
5 03:51 PEARCES FURNITURE AND BEDDING LITHGOW MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m
Without an obvious leader it's likely Share The Joy could find herself in front.  CLENDENNING (7) was well supported when resuming at Canberra but failed to fire and finished near the rear where it was found that his tongue tie had shifted during the run which restricted his breathing. He has been given time to get over that run and can make full use of the pole position in this. Stick with him. Can win. CRANBERRIES (8) had her first run for a new trainer last time out and looked to need the hit-out. She is running out of chances but the ability is there and if her mind is on the job, she has some first-four claims in a field that lacks any real depth. SHARE THE JOY (12) is another who is lacking a finishing burst but did finish second in a stronger field at Kembla Grange last month. If she can rediscover that form, then she has a chance in this. Each way. BLOOMIN' GOLD (4) will find this easier than her first couple of starts and with a recent trial under her belt she is ready to put her best hoof forward. Include in all multiples.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Clendenning each way.
6 04:26 BATHURST RSL CLUB SOLDIER'S SADDLE - CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1400m
A stack of early pressure, primarily from Musical Affair and Xeiby.  KELILAH (10) was a deserved winner at Orange in her penultimate run and then ran third at the same venue after that. She is asked to carry 2 kilos less this time and in her current space, she should be right in the finish again. FLETCHLO (9) was back in form when coming from last to get up and score at Dubbo last start. He was favourite that day so the win was not unexpected despite his recent lack of form. He loves his home track and now that he is back in the groove, he can win again. PROUD IMAGE (6) has been racing well in 3 starts since her Nowra win near the end of February. A 3-kilo claim this time will help her and with the benefit of the pole position she has solid each-way claims again. MUSICAL AFFAIR (4) was not suited by the heavy track at Randwick last time out and the fence that day was not the place to be. Her form prior was first-class and she is not too badly treated at the weights in this. She is good enough to take them all the way this time. Don't drop her.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Musical Affair each way.
7 05:01 JB CIVIL CONCRETING BILL ASPROS CUP BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1100m
Not many willing to take up the pace here and it could lead to a stop start contest.  MAGNUS RED (4) stormed home late to finish third when resuming at Tamworth and has again come up with a tough draw. He normally improves with racing and even though he is likely to get back early on, he can have the last say this time, especially if the gaps come his way. ZIPPY ZOO (8) needed his first run back from a spell and will strip fitter second up. It is worth noting that senior hoop Mikayla Weir is replacing an apprentice and the pair merit healthy respect. LOHNRAKI (3) did not have the best of runs last time out at Kembla Grange on a heavy track and did not really try after his early check that day. He is much better than that and benefits from a 4-kilo claim this time. Include in all combinations in an even contest. ELECTRIC STORM (7) has had a freshen up since his last run and is capable of a first four finish in this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Lohnraki each way.
