NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:00 Laurels Function Centre Maiden Plate 1728m
Disco Prince to take charge at a solid tempo. LINAS REEL (5) needed it first up and then went close at The Heath over a mile. He has more to give and has the blinkers first-time applied. In a leading metro yard and fitter is sure to take beating. DISCO PRINCE (1) impressed missing a whisker first up and then was heavily bet at Pakenham over a mile and disappointed (vet cleared). Draws better today and has the blinkers on for the first time. A much sharper effort is anticipated. CROWN OF CATHERINE (12) gives away starts but went close at Geelong and is sure to appreciate the longer journey. WHAT A CROSS (10) raced favourite and was beaten 1L in debut over a mile. He's in the mix building on that.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Linas Reel.

Lack of speed evident which paves the way for Flower Gallery to be prominent. BARAQIEL (2) debuts and the speed-bred gelding profiles well. Finds a winnable assignment and will get every chance under Ben Allen. FLOWER GALLERY (9) disappointed here 12 days ago but was tracking well prior. Has a handy 3kg claim today and maps for the run of the race. She deserves another chance. ZE BEE NINE (6) is proving hard to catch but races forward and will also be around the mark.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Baraqiel should prove hard to roll.
3 02:10 Maffra Community Sports Club 3YO Maiden Plate 1105m
Always plenty of early pressure in sprint races such as this with a large number of unraced runners. HEARTATTACK JACK (3) looked good in his trial and went close at Bairnsdale on debut. Maps for a soft run and is sure to have come on. He's expected to take beating with improvement incoming. LIBERAMI (4) resumes and posted a big relative figure when close up at Sandown-Hillside before spelling. He's been away a year but comes back gelded and has early speed. It won't surprise if he's ready to go. COFFIN DODGER (1) trialled well and placed as favourite first up. The blinkers are applied for the first time and he can keep improving.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Heartattack Jack appeals.
4 02:45 Bennett Electrical Maiden Plate 1411m
Plenty of early pace with Raid The Spoils vying for the lead, pressured by Cantolago and Disselation. DISSELATION (3) looks ready to win now third-up despite going under as favourite at Pakenham most recently. Sticking to this trip looks ideal and he has the pace to work forward from a sticky alley. Rates highly amongst this field and can be shedding the maiden tag. CANTOLAGO (8) disappointed as favourite at Benalla but had excuses and was tipped out afterwards. Resumes today after running third in a jump out at Pakenham. Likely to play a major role. ABSOLUTE DEEL (2) showed enough in his debut prep to suggest he wouldn't be a maiden for long. Won't be far away.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Disselation.
5 03:15 Maffra Community Sports Club Maffra Cup BM70 Handicap 1411m
Genuine tempo with Nation's Call and Master Montaro battling for early supremacy. NATION'S CALL (4) resumes for the new yard after 293 days and brings compelling form from one of Ireland's top stables. He races handy and has been well prepared for a first-up tilt. No surprise if the Frankel entire has them covered. IMPENDING LINK (5) won a Pakenham 64 second-up as favourite and has returned to racing further improved. Fitter again and maps to get all, the favours. MASTER MONTARO (1) is a well-performed galloper who's been mixing trips at Flemington in stronger grade. Steps back up to 1400m and the 3kg claim brings him into it. BLOW IN (2) peaks for the Stokes yard and we should see a better effort.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Want to be with Nation's Call at his first Australian start.
6 03:45 Vale Peter Eustace BM64 Handicap 1728m
Good early pressure with Satin Image, Eddy Street and Cable Dancer to vie for the lead. MAGADAN (9) was back to his best missing a whisker this track/trip in a 58. Keeps Mott and has weight relief. Maps well and is capable of going one better in what looks a suitable assignment. SATIN IMAGE (10) tired late at Bairnsdale after leading them up and drops back to the mile now. Best form is good enough and the cross-over nose band goes on again. Can make her presence felt. KOROBEINIKI (7) was a big first-up winner before failing last start. Usually bounces back third-up and the gear changes suggest she's in much better shape now. Big chance. THE CUNNING FOX (1) will be fitter for two trials coming in and wasn't far away at Flemington when fresh last campaign. Inlcude.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Magadan.
7 04:15 Carlton Draught 0-64 Handicap 1511m
Itsukushima can be positive early. Competitive. ZAKU (7) threatened three times and then was a touch plainer at Ballarat. She has enough early pace to position forward and keeps the handy 3kg claim. Hard fit and looks a solid each-way play. ITSUKUSHIMA (1) seeks the hat trick for a leading metro yard and keeps improving. Maps for a soft run and is also a value hope. DE VENUS (4) was a dominant maiden winner over 1400m here last time out and the rise in trip doesn't appear an issue. Should be in the finish of this event if he can run up to what he did last time out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Zaku gets the nod.
8 04:45 Ladbroke It! BM58 Handicap 1105m
Look for a strong early tempo with Burton Street prominent. Go long in the quaddie. THINK I'M DIVINE (12) will be better for the two runs back and has plenty up the sleeve. Races well here and the 3kg claim brings him right into it. DUMMY SPIT (4) came from the back winning here this grade. Draws handier today and fitter can get into the finish. TORLAAH (6) resumes and goes fresh. Needs a good ride but will be naturally improved and no surprise to see her race well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Think I'm Divine appeals most.
