NUM TIME COMMENT
1 10:05 Maiden Race 1600m
ALPS OJO (5) turned in a good effort on debut six-and-a-half months ago when 10 lengths away in third at this track over 1600m. Has not been to the races since that outing. Will be better for that race experience and looks well placed to be in the finish again. MEISHO KOROGI (11) lifted strongly only to just miss last start over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Has race fitness on her side now. Hard to beat in this suitable race. GEMPACHI ETOILE (10) returns after four months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a fourth over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt. Among the chances while fresh. KIGATA REI (4) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 6 lengths back in seventh over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Solid top-three prospects.
2 10:35 Maiden Race 1400m
DANON MAKALU (15) finished out of the money but was not too far away when resuming last start over 1600m at this track. Change of rider and expected to go forward from out wide. Leading prospect. BUSTER WOLF (6) showed good early muster and fought on to finish second last start over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Drawn to enjoy a good run on the speed. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot salute. O NET LEO (13) never really threatened when resuming last time out, finishing midfield and beaten 21 lengths over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Gets back but will wind up late. Winning claims on best figures. NISHINO YOUNG MAN (7) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 4.5 lengths into fourth. Well placed to make amends.
3 11:05 Maiden Race 2300m
RUBENS (12) knuckled down strongly to get within a neck of the winner in second last start over 2400m at this track. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will prove tough to beat. STAR CHOSAN (5) went forward last start over 2600m at Fukushima and held on well for third, beaten 1.3 lengths. Nicely placed to figure in the outcome. MOLTO MAESTOSO (11) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 2200m at Nakayama, beaten 3.5 lengths. Strips fitter and can find winning ways. UNWRITTEN RULE (8) is a three-year-old colt who lines up for the first time. From a family of winners, being by Harbinger from Charity Quest.
4 11:35 Maiden Race 1800m
SATONO LA COURONNE (3) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 1800m at Fukushima when third, beaten 1.75 lengths. Sure to take a lot from that hitout so a big run is anticipated. SYMPATHEIA (5) was well in commission on her debut over 1600m at Nakayama seven weeks ago and finished ninth, beaten 5.5 lengths. Capable of sharp improvement. DANON TIMELY (9) is back from a spell of 11 weeks. Closed last prep with a sixth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 1800m at this track. One of the contenders. AOI RAN (7) debuted four weeks ago when she finished fourth over 1600m at Nakayama, beaten 4.5 lengths. Better for that run and can improve sharply.
5 12:25 Allowance Race 2100m
MOSKROSSER (4) is racing well, scoring by half a length two back at Tokyo then finishing a respectable fourth last time over 2200m at Nakayama when not too far away. Sure to go well. AMOUREUX DE PARIS (8) found one marginally better when returning from a layoff last start over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt after being prominent throughout. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot salute. ALCHIMISTE (5) broke through for his maiden win over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt last time. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Looks well placed and he is definitely worth including. LORD BLAZE (12) finished second last start at the first run back from a spell over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 1.75 lengths. Placed to advantage so expect a big run.
6 12:55 Allowance Race 1600m
GET UP (11) is ready to win after he just missed last time, beaten a neck into second over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt after being in the firing line all the way. Awkwardly drawn and might need a little luck early. Can take this out. IT'S ONLY YOU (8) finished off last campaign with a seventh over 1800m at Kokura on February 25 and has since switched trainers. Goes well when resuming from a spell, including four minor placings from six starts. Capable of taking this out. AOI KOKI (13) made it three wins in succession last time out when he scored by a head over 1600m at Funabashi. Finds a tougher race but another win is not out of the question. MY SHOCHAN (10) finished eighth over 2100m at this track at his most recent appearance on February 10. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
7 01:25 Allowance Race 1400m
RED SCHWERT (15) is back after a break of three months. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 1600m at Nakayama. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with four minor placings from four tries. Comes here with definite claims. TOMOJA CIMA (13) kept coming but just failed to pick up the winner when fresh from a spell as favourite last start over 1400m at Chukyo. Sure to derive great benefit from that run. Going well and has winning claims. VIVISIMO (11) finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1400m at Kyoto, beaten a neck. Nicely placed to take this out. NISHINO PIU MOSSO (3) finished second last start at the first run back from a spell over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten 5 lengths. In the right race and is a winning hope.
8 01:55 Allowance Race 2000m
HAGINO ALDEBARAN (1) finished fourth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1800m at Hanshin, beaten only 1.1 lengths. Finds the right race this time and can find winning form. AVENIR DE BRILLER (8) found the line strongly last time when fourth over 1800m at Nakayama. Extra journey a plus and gets chance to show best. LILY BRIGHT (5) has not won for a long while. Last raced on April 7 when beaten 5 lengths into seventh at Nakayama over 2000m. Beautifully placed and is sure to take plenty of stopping. LIMIT BUSTER (3) finished second at Kyoto two runs back but was less effective last time over 2000m at Hanshin, finishing 8 lengths back in eighth. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time.
9 02:25 BUBAIGAWARA STAKES 1600m
KANA TAPE (2) is a genuine five-year-old mare who resumed with a solid third last time out at Chukyo over 1600m. Excellent winning chance. KOKO CRATER (9) is racing well, scoring two back at Nakayama before finishing 1.5 lengths from the winner in third last time over 1800m at Nakayama. Record here is impressive with two wins from five starts. Fitter and can run a big race today. BEYOND THE VALLEY (4) raced on the pace when resuming last start and lifted strongly to hold second, beaten one length, over today's journey at Chukyo. In the right race and is a winning hope. NISHINO RAIKO (8) returns from a layoff of ten weeks. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1600m at this track. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
10 03:00 JRA ULTRA PREMIUM KING KAMEHAMEHA CUP 1600m
SALVATORE (15) won at this track and distance at his last outing 12 weeks ago. Yet to win fresh but loves the track and trip and should be hard to stop. DURA RESILIENT (6) is back at the races for the first time since February 10. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt. Comes here with definite claims. SMART AMBER (1) held on well to finish second last start over 1400m at Chukyo Dirt, beaten 0.8 lengths when fresh from a spell. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. EXULT (7) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing fifth at Chukyo Dirt over 1400m. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot return to winning ways.
11 03:40 THE NHK MILE CUP 1600m
ASCOLI PICENO (14) Hanshin Juvenile Fillies winner two back then just missed fresh as favourite over 1600m in the G1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) at Hanshin. Will strip a lot fitter this time around. Top class and looks the one to beat. JANTAR MANTAR (16) was a winner this level three back in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes. Pushed forward fresh and boxed on to finish 0.8 lengths away in third over 2000m in the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) at Nakayama. Should be close to the speed despite the draw. Well performed this level and appeals as the main danger. BOND GIRL (5) kept coming but just failed to pick up the winner when fresh from a spell as favourite over 1600m in the G2 New Zealand Trophy (NHK Mile Cup Trial) at Nakayama. Should tighten right up following that outing. Has started two times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Taking on a better line-up this time but she deserves her chance. GONBADE QABUS (12) is unbeaten and has big upside.
12 04:25 HIYOSHI TOKUBETSU 1300m
ANTHURIUM (14) made a strong late bid but just failed to pick up the winner when first-up last start over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Will strip a lot fitter this time around. Ready to go one better. ECORO ARES (4) was in the money at first two runs from a spell then missed the frame last time finishing a 2.75 lengths sixth over 1200m. Not far away latest and should be at peak now. Previous form sound and rates among the leading chances. YOUNG WORLD (12) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fourth, beaten 1.4 lengths, over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Should be peaking now and is a key runner. EMERALD BEACH (10) is back at the races for the first time since February 24. Scored over 1200m at Kyoto Dirt at the start of last prep. Worth plenty of thought.
