NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:45 Radio 5AU 97.9 Maiden Plate 1396m
Genuine pace with Valkur taking up the running ahead of Chuckamicky. VALKUR (12) comes back across the border having just missed out at Mildura last star, beaten 0.5L after leading the field. She steps out in trip which shouldn't be an issue and she'll be able to find the front under Livesy. Can make every post a winner. CAVALLINO (8) looked to peak on the run first-up when beaten 2.9L over this course and distance. Should strip fitter now and with improvement expected, she's bound to make her presence felt. CHUCKAMICKY (9) was no match for a dominant winner last time out but had run some better races prior to that. The wide draw is a niggle, but her best form has her amongst the chances. SHADOWIST (5) finished well behind Cavallino last time out and is drawn wide again. Happy to give him another chance with his first-up run suggesting he wasn't far off a win. INNER SANCTUM (1) is best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Valkur can get the job done.
2 01:20 Davenport Builders Maiden Handicap 1100m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Emme's Secret. MR JONES (3) makes his debut for the Stephen Theodore stable after a strong effort at Ararat only 9 days ago. Should sit on the speed from a nice draw and is set to peak third-up. Form this campaign reads well, he'll just need t bring that across the border. EMMOOKI MAGIC (11) finished midfield when leading them up last start. The margin is blown out by the winner bolting in. Her prior efforts suggest she has her hoof on the till and she'll be up front from an inside alley. Can bounce back. ONELOLLY'SENUFF (6) bumped into the same race as Emooki Magic last start and should be better with a run under her belt now. She was 25-1 there, though this isn't a strong race on paper. Can play a major role. EMME'S SECRET (4) couldn't hold on at Murray Bridge and will find this much easier. Has pace and may take catching on the dirt. JETT ROCKIN' (5) is next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mr Jones goes on top.
3 01:50 Terry Gardiners Meats & Smallgoods Rating 0 - 52 Handicap 1100m
Certain to be a strong tempo with Mandragorian and Laila's A Gem leading the charge. BITE YOUR TONGUE (4) hasn't been far away at all lately, finishing 2.5L behind the winner here most recently. The draw makes things tricky but there's no doubt he's knocking on the door of a victory. He finds the right race today and can end his 400 day winning drought. MANDRAGORIAN (3) has trialled well here since a 4.1L defeat at Clare 36 days ago. That effort followed an all-the-way win at Port Lincoln on March 17. Has plenty of pace and if he can get across from the wide alley, his best form would see him very hard to run down. STAKE A CLAIM (9) is a winner first-up in the past and should get every possible from the inside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Bite Your Tongue.
4 02:25 Milhinch Hourglass Jewellers Rating 0 - 54 Handicap 1396m
Keen battle for the lead between Obelos, Rockford Files and Choncape in advance of Club Punter and Keep Swinging. AL RANCHERO (1) rocketed home from the back over 1200m here first-up in a very eye-catching effort, beaten 3.2L. Now out in trip and with a run under his belt, he looks ready to get back to winning ways. Nicely placed from the alley and with 2kgs coming off, he'll take plenty of beating. TUNDRA (4) is another who ran on strongly from beyond midfield, finishing 2.2L off the winner over 1100m a fortnight ago. The wide draw is some concern, but he did cross and lead from a wide draw two back. Racing well and can continue his good run of form today. SASSY ANGEL (8) has never raced on this track but she brings good Turf form to this event. Not afar away at Oakbank or Balaklava her past couple in much tougher events. Likely to put her best foot forward. CLUB PUNTER (3) is on the quick back up today and is not to be discounted. LINES OF GLORY (6) won't be far away if he runs up to recent efforts.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Al Ranchero.
5 02:55 Port Augusta MG Rating 0 - 54 Handicap 1396m
Solid tempo expected primarily from Berkinson and Tiny Rebel. REGAL ROCKET (2) sustained a long run to just miss by 1L over 1498m here a fortnight ago. He drops back in trip today which is a slight niggle, but he's drawn well again and he is a two-time winner around this trip. Just has to hold his form to be going one better today. FUNNY LEGS (3) ended up 2.8L away after a good run at the mile here a 14 days ago. He can be handy in the run from a better gate this time and this is easier grade than what he took on last time out. Ticking along nicely and has found his right race today. LEON'S SHOUT (5) resented the kickback here last start when going back from the wide alley. Suspect they'll take closer order this time with a kinder barrier and his figures from previous efforts rate well in this field. Can bounce back in a big way. THE MASTER (10) is better than he showed last time out and the extra trip can suit. Keep safe. CHEF DE MISSION (6) is never far away and is worth including.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Regal Rocket looks the one to beat.
6 03:25 Port Augusta Steel Centre Benchmark 60 Handicap 1396m
A solid tempo on the cards with Taipan Tommy heading them off. EVENING BRIDE (6) got the job done comfortably over this course and distance last time out, pulling away to win impressively. She'll need some luck from the draw, but she was dominant in this grade last start and there's no reason why she couldn't go back-to-back. HEY MICHAEL (4) will put up a fight after running home to win narrowly over 1350m here 28 days ago. Polly Bewster hops on and claims 4kg and the wide draw doesn't hurt the gelding's chances. Watch for him flashing late. KATIM'S CLUB (5) was 20-1 at Morphettville last time out and brings that form onto the dirt now. He was beaten as favourite at Bodertown two back, but the three efforts this campaign are right up to winning this. Just has to bring that form to this surface. SEVEN SECRETS (2) won well as favourite over 1200m here last start and can go on with the job. EXCELMAN (1) is racing well but is a niggle sticking to this distance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Evening Bride.
7 03:55 Hallett Group Benchmark 58 Handicap 1200m
Liberty Blue and Edgy Era should lock horns early at a strong clip. RICHED (7) was only 1.6L away over 1100m at Clare last start and rates well off that effort. He's been placed at this track and trip previously and Sairyn Fawke hops back in the saddle having won five times when riding. Everything points to a forward showing. LIBERTY BLUE (1) has been racing well up in the NT and has placed 4/5 at this course and distance. The 4kg claim comes in handy as he's right back in grade today. Tricky draw, but he's sure to be in the finish on recent efforts. ALL CLUBS (8) wasn't disgraced in his stable debut here a fortnight ago, laying the platform to build on. Alan Lai takes the ride this time and claims 3kg and he strikes at 22% at this track. Can be flooding home late. ROCK HARD (5) will need some luck from the draw but is in the mix if he runs to form. TANE TOA (11) is best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Riched lands on top.
8 04:25 Progress Rail Benchmark 56 Handicap 1498m
Good early pace from Daveedo, Galaxy Falls and Zesty Spice going forward to hold out some other speedy customers. SHALAGA (1) stormed over the top to win by a length at this course and distance a fortnight ago and rates highly off that effort. The wide draw won't hurt as he gets back anyway. Tootell was on board last start and claims 2kgs again and if he can replicate his latest effort, he should be winning again. EXALTED TRAVELLER (8) trialled well at this course recently after a 2L defeat at Port Lincoln 28 days ago. He hasn't won for a very long time, but he looks to have found the right race and he loves this trip. Has been placed here before and is sure to be in the finish. HARBOURING (2) was only 1.1L off the winner last time out and was on the 4 day back up on that occasion. Now a fortnight between runs and out in trip, he's sure to be closing off strongly. AXECAPITAL (11) is better than he showed last time out and is worth including. WICKED ADDICTION (6) is ticking along nicely and if he can get back to his prior form he's in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Shalaga in the last.
