Good tempo anticipated with Peschiera and Cuesta leading the way. CUESTA (2) was held out last start at Randwick on a testing track in tougher company, but that followed a slick 1.5-length win at this track two back when she tracked the speed and boxed on strongly — back to that level, she's sure to be thereabouts. PESCHIERA (10) has been racing to a consistent standard without saluting, leading and fading for third at Newcastle before running on for fourth at Illawarra Grange last start, and rates an each-way hope on that form. MIGHTY MYRTLE (3) steps up to her second-up assignment after a fair fourth first-up at Canberra, and with fitness now on her side, should figure in the finish. CANNY QUEEN (1) also steps up for her second run back off a 50-day let-up. Her return from a 13-month absence — tenth at Moruya — leaves others preferred but she does have a solid long-neck win to her name two runs back. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cuesta appeals most.
