Genuine tempo with Hit Squad leading the way. DOUBLET (2) returned from a break of seven months with a solid third last start at this track over 1400m after he got a long way back in the run. Up in trip suits ideally now and any improvement sees him go close. HIT SQUAD (4) is yet to break through after five career starts but did place over this route two back before dropping back in trip and running fifth. Shinn on helps, he'll roll forward and take beating. VESPASIAN (7) stuck on well for third at Geelong last time over 1700m and maps well at peak fitness, should take beating. MISS SHIINO (8) is in the mix off a last-start placing as is DR WELL (3) who debuted in a strong maiden and warrants respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Doublet to win.
