Pace on from the outset with A T Spica, King Furioso and Tsuwamono going forward ahead of Ultimate and Pax Japonica. KING FURIOSO (3) produced a reasonable effort when fourth last start over 1200m at Funabashi, beaten 1.4 lengths. That followed a win at Kawasaki the start prior. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. TSUWAMONO (5) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1500m at Kawasaki, beaten 17 lengths into tenth. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. PAX JAPONICA (9) has not won for a long while. Last raced on November 12 when beaten 6 lengths into fourth at Kawasaki over 1400m. Nicely placed to break the run of outs. ULTIMATE (4) is fresh from a spell of four-and-a-half months and did hit the frame when last resuming at this track over 1400m. In a different yard now.
