Expecting French Empire to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. FRENCH RIVIERA (10) didn't measure up in town on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Has since returned with a solid third at Doomben and will have come on with that run now under the belt. Rates the testing material. TORERA (11) has hit the top-five in all four runs this preparation including a runner-up finish around this circuit. Will be rock-hard fit for this and should be going very close. FRENCH EMPIRE (5) was well in the betting when facing the starter for the first time and where there's smoke there's fire. Draws low and can play a major role in the outcome. BOOTS WITH THE FUR (1) placed on debut at the Gold Coast and will take a lot of benefit from that race day experience. In the mix. SHAQUE D'AMOUR (8) next in line.
