A solid tempo anticipated with Spellcaster and Asakusa Venus ahead of Satono Zeal and Flintlock. SHIHORIN (13) didn't make an impact at her last run before a break, finishing seventh over 1800m at Hakodate. Hasn't scored when fresh from a break but generally races well with two minor placings. Leading rider aboard and looks hard to beat. LAKE CRESCENT (1) did a good job when returning from a break last time at Nakayama, finishing second and only 2.5 lengths from the winner at the end of 1600m after being in contention on the turn. Best figures measure up and drawn much better. Sure to run well. LOVELY GIRL (16) missed the placings two starts back when resuming then ran a better race and finished 1.2 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1400m at Niigata after being prominent at the turn. Yet to miss the frame in two starts over this course and distance. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. BUMBLEBEE (6) turned in a fair effort at this track over 1600m at his last run three-and-a-half months ago, finishing sixth. Will take catching here.
