Not much early speed of note and Archibald and Drop Of Ray may find themselves setting a steady tempo. ARCHIBALD (3) was out of the money when resuming two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 800m at this track, beaten 5 lengths into fifth after being in contention on the corner. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. DROP OF RAY (5) is returning from a spell of a year. Finished seventh at Chukyo over 1400m at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Yuya Goto. Capable of playing a major role. CONTI AFTERNOON (8) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1400m at this track, beaten 9 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Finds a suitable race and can build on that solid recent effort. CHUKHA (1) hasn't made an impression lately despite market confidence. Last start could only manage seventh over 1400m at this track. Well-placed and can sneak into the finish.
