Not expecting them to go too hard in a race devoid of on-pacers. SUN GIFT (14) resumed off a Group 3 in solid order and was heavily bet over a mile at Moe following and was found to have an issue. She has been kept on the fresh side and the step up to the middle distance suits. Well placed to make amends. GHEMME (9) was spelled off a promising second-up effort over this distance and will be better for the first-up run over a mile. Maps for the run of the race and Childs sticks aboard. MORTHAN EFFICIENT (6) was ridden more- forward beaten 1L at Warrnambool over 1700m. He will use an inside gate and fitter will give a sight. THINKING GOLD (7) did a good job over 1500m on debut. In a leading barn and has a positive jockey switch to Nolen. Has to be kept onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Sun Gift.
