NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:40 A Grade Sheds Maiden Plate 1300m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Ellie's Song. BAR LA LA (9) faced the starter for the first time at Yarra Valley over 1209m and the fitness gave out late. Jumped a short-priced favourite and a top metro barn will have her improved. Tough to beat. MONIX (2)has been in the money five times including last start over 1200m at Horsham. Fitter again and has a sound record here with two top-three finishes from three starts. A threat. FOXIET (11) is also third-up and was much better at Ararat last time. Can get some of the money if the awkward gate is managed. MUKATILA (13) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner over 1170m at Wangaratta and has plenty of scope for improvement. Has an inside gate and keep onside. ELLIE'S SONG (8) resumes off a long break and has trialled well. Might be the best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bar La La to win.
2 02:15 Elders Swan Hill Maiden Plate 1600m
From wide out Aussie Pride can slide over and set up a genuine tempo. SO ENCHANTING (13) wasn't far away first up over 1300m at Seymour. Finished hard from well back and should appreciate the longer journey with that run under the belt. Won't find this as tough and it's hard to risk the jockey/yard. JUST LANDED (1) needed the first up run. May need longer now but has placed 2/3 second-up and should enjoy a soft run. BAUDIN (9) can improve sharply at 1600m and his best form would give him a chance. IDEAS GALORE (10) stuck on well enough in her debut at Kyneton. Will have taken valuable race experience and fitness from the run. Is bred to relish getting up to the mile today with probably a view to ten furlongs and beyond.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with So Enchanting.
3 02:50 CAMR Plumbing Maiden Plate 975m
Expecting Cracked It to take up the running with Bimballa and Manhattan Darling close at hand. BIMBALLA (8) is in a top metro yard and went close at Moe. Has the blinkers on for the first time and John Allen rides. Peaks now and is sure to feature. CONISTON SPICE (4) debuts and is also in good hands. Has impressed at the jumpouts and draws the inside barrier. CRACKED IT (9) led and found one better at Colac. This is tougher but he will skip across and give a sight. WHERE'S MY SOCK (7) resumes and has placed this course/distance. Won't be far away. SYMBOL OF STATE (12) was well beaten on debut over 1000m at Colac. Bred to be better than that and trials at Flemington also indicated ability.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bimballa gets the nod.
4 03:25 Arentz Electrical BM56 Handicap 975m
Plenty of pace from Factually, Simply Luscious and Majestic Maremma vying for the lead, with a few others keeping them honest. BARNAGE (1) raced in town last time at Caulfield Heath and was beaten 2.25 lengths. Went close at Kyneton prior and will enjoy the significant drop in grade. Will be hard to stop. SURPRISATIC (2) went back-to-back with an easy win at Kerang but hasn't threatened the two since. They have been in better class and he draws the inside barrier. Has been kept on the fresh side and finds a suitable race to turn things around. FACTUALLY (13) doesn't have the best strike rate but ran a strong race when resuming from a spell over 1009m at Yarra Valley beaten a half-length. Crossed and led in that and may do the same today. Just has to hold the form to feature in the finish. DRY FIRE (9) has also been out of the winner's circle for a long time but is knocking on the door and has the blinkers applied again. MISTAVAIN (4) resumes and has trialled well. Has an outside gate but would be in the mix if presented on song.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Barnage to win.
5 04:05 Sun Centre Curtains & Blinds BM56 Handicap 2400m
Reasonable tempo with Sharma Princess probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. MIDNIGHT GLOW (1) turned in a sound effort last time but found one better at Pakenham over 2500m, beaten 1.3 lengths. Will appreciate the drop in grade. Leading contender. FILADEEL (4) is in the premier stable and improved last start to finish third over 1887m at Kyneton. Fitter again and is ready for the step-up to the staying journey. Nicely placed to feature. TRIORA (6) is MG's stablemate and we know she will run out the trip. Fourth up now with more to offer. SHARMA PRINCESS (10) placed at Edenhope last start. Holds each way appeal in a race which has been thinned out by some key scratchings.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Midnight Glow appeals most.
6 04:40 Kennedys Jewellers BM56 Handicap 1300m
Pro Aussie to set a keen tempo joined by Asawin pushing on from an outside draw. NO GREATER VUE (3) broke through for his Maiden win over 1200m at Colac last time scoring comfortably. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Has a low draw and he is a decent chance to go back-to-back. TATSU (1) found one better first-up in stronger at Wangaratta. Goes well second-up and has plenty up the sleeve. Has the rail and the longer sprint suits. CHOSEN VENTURE (14) has a very good fresh record, scoring two times including one over 975m at this track first-up. Has found a suitable race. ASAWIN (2) showed good early dash but dropped out over 1300m at Sandown-Hillside in much tougher. Has been freshened and switched stables. Has to push forward from a wide gate but gets in well enough with the 3kg claim. Could surprise.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with No Greater Vue.
7 05:15 Pooles Accountants St Patricks Cup BM56 Handicap 1600m
Good early pressure with Lady Prancelot or Hydrogen Power likely to take up the running. CRACK A DEEL (2) was well held in the Moonee Valley Vase won by Observer over 2040m at Moonee Valley at his last appearance five months ago. Won a Maiden by 4.3L over 2000m at Warrnambool prior and has won fresh. Blinkers come off and kicking off over 1600m in the country can give it a shake. IMMORTAL JUSTICE (12) raced just off the lead before letting down nicely and scoring a 0.8 lengths win over this journey at Ararat in Maidens. That was deserved and from an inside gate is sure to measure up again. SOUND OF JURA (1) is a distance specialist who is progressing well this preparation. Scored by a nose last time out over 1600m at Albury and an equal favourite and is still well shy of his best. Solid top-three prospects. FINAL QUARTER (14) is third-up and up to the 1600m should be ready to show more like her best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Crack A Deel if the betting suggests stable confidence.
