HAWTHORN HANDICAP 1000m
ACE TALENT (11) resumes from a short break today, though he hasn't been away from the track for very long. He's has three trials since his latest effort when gunned down late here 63 days ago, winning his most recent hit out at Conghua. Should be on speed from a favourable alley and will take catching. SO AWESOME (7) drops back in trip today after going under as favourite at his past couple attempts. He didn't have the best of luck last start but still closed off strongly and was only passed in the shadows of the post two back. Hard to knock on recent form and he'll be hard to hold out if he can run up to that level again. DOUBLE SHOW (12) stuck on well behind a big winner here last start and back to 1000m is a smart play. Needs a touch of luck but has proven he's good enough. MODEST GENTLEMAN (6) disappointed last time out but is better than what he showed there and can return to form. |

MAGNOLIA HANDICAP 1650m
COURIER MAGIC (3) drops back into Class 5 today and gets the blinkers back on. He's been well fancied in tougher company recently, jumping favourite last start when beaten 2.3L. Wong's in hot form recently and his apprentice claim comes in handy. Looks the one to beat. WINDICATOR FAMILY (4) is knocking on the door of another win, going under in a photo finish here 28 days ago. He draws to get every chance under Poon and it wouldn't surprise to see him go one better this time around. BEAU GOSSE (12) comes through the same race as Windicator Family where they hit the line locked together. He's been a maiden for a long time, but he's turned a corner his past couple of efforts and he has to be included. ESCAPE ROUTE (5) creates interest on the back of a solid trial and with Purton now taking the ride. His record at the track and trip is gross, though there's a few factors hinting that he may have turned his form around. |

GARDEN HANDICAP 1200m
FLOWING RICHES (7) bumped into a good winner on debut when jumping the favourite before a fair effort most recently, beaten 2.5L. He now comes to Happy Valley on the back of those strong ratings in defeat and he has the speed to negotiate the wide alley. Can get the job done this time. TACTICAL COMMAND (5) flew home from last 35 days ago when beaten 1.3L on the quick turnaround. He's won a trial since his latest effort and the wide draw doesn't matter as he tends to get back anyway. Sure to be doing his best work late in the race. CALIFORNIA DEEPLY (2) has bounced back to form since dropping in grade, beaten 1.3L last start 42 days ago. He beat Tactical Command on that occasion and he mightn't be as far back today from a better draw. Has the class to feature. MEOWTH (3) drops back in trip which looks a good move by connections and his best form would see him in the finish. |

FA PO HANDICAP 1000m
DAY DAY VICTORY (10) never really got into the race last start at Sha Tin over 1400m and the switch back to this track and trip is a strong move. He can sit much closer than he has done in recent starts after being awkwardly away here two back and finishing 1.3L away. Ready to strike now. LEAN MASTER (1) dropped back to this track and trip last start and was too good, winning by 1.3L and he's been freshened since. He comes here off a 49-day break and without a trial, though he loves this track and trip and it wouldn't surprise to see him repeat the dose. LUCKY TWENTY (4) is on debut for the Jimmy Ting barn and has shown some ability at the trials. The 1000m journey looks good for him off what we saw at his first trial in HK and he can play a role in a race lacking depth. HAPPY UNITED (2) disappointed last start but was in good touch prior to that. Can bounce back to form. |

GREEN HANDICAP 1650m
SMART CITY (9) sat handy and proved too good over this course and distance, bolting in by 2.5L. He's trialled quietly since then and while he has drawn wider, he can roll forward and repeat the dose. Hard to ignore his latest effort and can bring up back-to-back wins. CAPITAL LEGEND (1) got the job done well two back before a 0.8L defeat last start in a strong performance. Wong's claim comes in handy and the apprentice is in white hot form. Can land in a good position and get back to winning ways. OUR LUCKY GLORY (5) finished behind Smart City last start here when beaten 2.8L but he does get a big weight swing in his favour. He's 0/8 at this trip, but his recent form suggests he's not far away. Can be in the finish again. GLORIOUS JOURNEY (2) is better than he showed fresh and can improve second-up. |

BRIAR HANDICAP 1000m
THE ALL OUT (11) is a 2YO taking on the older horses. He won narrowly on debut before saluting again as the $1.70 elect down the Sha Tin straight last time out. He carries no weight on his back and while this is a tough ask, he looks above average. Can continue his winning run. CANDLELIGHT DINNER (6) was too good last start over this course and distance, winning by 1.3L after jumping the race favourite. Nobody got close to him there and he draws well to take up the running again from an inside barrier. Drops in weight today and will be hard to run down. SUPERB CAPITALIST (2) bounced back to winning ways last start in his first attempt over this course and distance. He has the speed to roll across from the sticky gate and can put his best foot forward again. YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (1) was only caught late last start by Superb Capitalist and rates well on that effort. Has to be included. |

GARDEN HANDICAP 1200m
BIENVENUE (4) disappointed here last start on a wet deck when going around the $1.70 favourite and did pull up with an issue as well. Purton remains in the saddle however and he has the speed to roll across from a sticky barrier. Can bounce back to winning form. FORTUNE WHISKEY (3) just missed last start on the quick turnaround after jumping favourite at this track and trip. He can put himself in a handy position from a good draw and the claim of Wong gets him in nicely at the weights. Racing in good order and can go one better this time. ENJOY GOLF (2) is better than he showed last start when beaten 5L over 1400m at Sha Tin. The blinkers go on again today and the softer gate should help him. Bowman takes the ride now and he looks set to return to form. VIGOR ELLEEGANT (9) was too good for his rivals in easier company last start and has to be included. |

BEGONIA HANDICAP 1800m
BEAUTY ALLIANCE (8) got back last start but closed off well over 1400m at Sha Tin, finishing 1.8L off the winner and setting himself for a big run at his preferred track and trip. He's won 2/3 here previously and he's shown good speed in his recent efforts here. Looks poised to strike again. CAMBRIDGE (9) won here two back and turned in a strong performance last start when beaten 1L. Zac Purton now hops in the saddle following a strong trial where he partnered the gelding. He continues to raise the bar and there's no reason why he can't be in the thick of it again. BRAVEHEARTS (3) is ticking along nicely without winning in recent efforts. He stuck on well late last start over 2000m last start at Sha Tin. While the draw is a niggle, his recent figures stack up and he's sure to be there at the finish. WINNING WING (10) comes through a good form race at Sha Tin over this distance and the better draw can see him sit closer today. Not to be discounted. |

COTTON TREE HANDICAP 1200m
NEVER TOO SOON (11) bounced back in a big way last start when bolting in by 3L as the race favourite last time out. He rises in grade off that win, but he drops 4kg and he looks to get a similar run in transit. Simply too good last start and he can repeat the dose. VERY GRATEFUL (9) has been solid since arriving in Hong Kong, beaten only 1.8L off the winner last start and gets the blinkers on now. He draws to be just off the speed. Expecting him to be in the finish once again. SOVEREIGN FUND (8) flew home strongly last start over this track and trip last start to just miss, beaten 0.5L. He's likely to get back from the wide draw, though he's knocking on the door of another victory and he has to be included. FUN ELITE (12) hasn't been far away in recent races and jumped favourite last start. Drops in weight as he rises in grade and he can put his best foot forward. |
