Sportsbet Race Previews Handicap 1000m
Cracking tempo with She's My Ex and No Limitation leading the way. The resuming SWORD OF LEGACY (1) brings top form into her second campaign, just finding one better at her first two starts before a strong effort in the Talindert Stakes at Flemington behind the ultra-consistent Shining Smile. She's been jumping out well and gets D Lane aboard from an inside gate. Wary of CONSCIENCE (4) who was sent out after a smart debut win here, putting up a good number in fast time. She's a well-bred filly who Blake Shinn once again rides. FERIVIA (7) debuted at Murray Bridge and was far too good over this trip, coming clear to score by nearly four lengths. This is a sterner test but she's clearly talented. SHE'S MY EX (9) won well enough on debut at Pakenham Synthetic and looks to set up well here with Williams aboard from barrier three. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sword Of Legacy to win. |

MRC Membership Feel The Thrill Handicap 1600m
The Marg Factor should spear straight to the front of the small field. Very tough race. Not many of these do a lot of winning. MATRIARCH ROSE (2) is going okay and in tougher races, working home well in a bunched finish at Flemington last time out. She's certainly good enough to take this out. BRAVE MISS (5) was behind Matriarch Rose there but only narrowly and does at least have a bit of upside with 10 starts to her name. Gets a senior jockey on from a soft gate to help her cause as well. IGOTCHA (1) hasn't fired in three runs this time in but would take beating on her best form. Can improve. RICK'S CAFE (4) resumes. This is a good trip for her if she's fit enough although she is getting on and hasn't won in a fair while. ATAEGINA (7) could be an improver on slightly firmer going. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Matriarch Rose & Brave Miss. |

Without a recognised leader, Harsh and Butternut Princess will likely set the pace. ALL BUSINESS (1) is flying and finds another suitable race. She won in BM64 grade two back before being tested in open 3yo company at Flemington last time, working home well after covering ground to finish third. Now she gets Shinn back aboard from a good draw and she should take a power of beating. MISS CASTELVECCHIO (10) looks very much suited getting to a mile third up. The fresh win was impressive before a nice close here over 1400m last week. Drawn inside now, expecting she runs a new peak that can win this. BUTTERNUT PRINCESS (3) was behind All Business when they met last time out, beaten a neck. She's racing consistently and meets that horse better at the weights but the lean is still to All Business of the pair. SILENT SHARES (8) ran home well here last time over 1400m and has to be considered. COLOUR OUR WORLD (4) is going well and an each way hope. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing All Business & Miss Castelvecchio. |

Expecting Dubai Dancer to take up the running with Van Roy and Rip 'N' Rip close at hand. Siding with the resuming OVERACTIVE (3) at each way odds. He's got solid fresh form for this having been beaten half a length by the smart Sunshineinmypocket first up last time in at Sandown Lakeside in a BM74. He hasn't won perhaps as many as his ability would suggest but certainly has the talent and he's won a jumpout leading in. DUBAI DANCER (11) gave a good sight after leading at a strong gallop here last time out, only beaten 1.4 lengths by a handy quinella. She gets Craig Williams aboard from a soft draw here and will take plenty of running down again. BOLTSAVER (4) hit the line well in a slowly run race here last start and now gets Blake Shinn on. He is drawn wide and likely gets back again but has claims. Wary of RIP 'N' RIP (10) who has come back well and always promised a bit. KOKORO (5) resumes for a new yard and has ability, watch the betting. SUGGESTED PLAY: Overactive on top. |

Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap 1400m
Genuine tempo from Lario leading Alero. EVERAIN (1) looks very well placed back to benchmark grade having been well supported to win the Silver Bowl Series Final at Flemington last time out, off the back of two smart wins at Mornington and Cranbourne. A mile there may have just seen him out but he now comes back to an ideal trip and gets Williams up. NIMBUSTWOTHOUSAND (3) has always promised a bit but really put them away last start at Bendigo over 1100m, scoring by 2.25 lengths. His run prior over this course and distance was solid and he can improve again now. BETWITCHERY (6) led under Shinn who went for home early over this route last start, holding on by the barest of margins. Drops right in weight with the apprentice on board and will take catching again. LARIO (7) stuck on fairly last time at Flemington and sets up well from the inside with Shinn now jumping aboard. ALERO (4) has ability, up in trip could spark improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: Everain to win. |

Quayclean Handicap 1000m
Nasraawy is the likely leader at a slick tempo. MALLETIER (10) resumes and is the interesting horse going forward. Four runs to date have shown plenty of ability, winning two in a row impressively before a good second as favourite at Moonee Valley. He's got upside and draws well with Shinn booked. Can measure up strongly. JENNYANYDOTS (12) has come back well with two minor placings this time in. Should be ready to fire now dropping in weight and the fresh effort in this grade reads well. ENRIGHT (8) resumes with a nice profile. 1000m is the query for him but he's got ability and upside having won two of five, a smart winner at Geelong before the break. Wary. NASRAAWY (7) continues to race well and will be up on speed from the ideal draw. Should be right there. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Malletier. |

Evergreen Turf Handicap 2400m
Genuine pace with Empress Of The Sun taking up the running ahead of Karburan and I Am The Empire. Tough staying race. TRAPALANDA (8) is racing consistently since coming down to Melbourne and is likely open to further improvement than some more exposed rivals. He was only narrowly beaten at Sandown Lakeside last time out and should get into a decent spot with Williams booked. Should be right there. EMPRESS OF THE SUN (13) is the interesting one with just four starts to her name. She won two in a row, measuring up well last time out against her own sex in BM74 company. There's more depth here but she has to be respected. I AM THE EMPIRE (4) looks a big price in early betting. He was awful last start at Caulfield but that was much tougher. Some query at 2400m but he maps very well and the run two back goes close. FISHERMAN'S BEACH (14) is lightly raced, in the minor money here last time out. Tough draw but has claims again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Trapalanda & I Am The Empire. |

Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap 1800m
Expecting a strong gallop with Makdane and Blushing Tycoon taking up the running over Zakouma. MAKDANE (11) has struck form of late and looks the one to beat again. He was far too good on heavy ground at Sale when last seen, leading throughout to score by 2.25 lengths. Up in grade again but looks an improving type who will have no issue with another 200m in distance. BAVICIA (13) bounced back to form second up with a solid win at Cranbourne after struggling first up. Can strip fitter again and the rise in trip will only suit further. RUAKAKA RAIDER (9) was much better here last start despite being beaten four lengths by an impressive winner. His best form would go close in this and last start suggested it may be back on the radar. ZAKOUMA (17) has been turned over at very short quotes her past two since a dominant first-up win. Wary of the Begg/Childs combination, he could improve quickly. REZONE (14) was just fair fresh but will be fitter and has the ability. SUGGESTED PLAY: Makdane to win. |
