NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:34 CAMBRIDGE EQUINE HOSPITAL 1550m
Without an obvious leader, it may be left to The Exponent, Ezellohar and Side Eye to control the tempo. EIGHT LUCKY PRAWNS (4) will be peaking third up from a spell, and did not have much luck as favourite here 6 weeks ago, when beaten by the wide gate. He gets a big swing in his draw this time, and he will be hard to hold out. Follow your money. SIDE EYE (3) has not had much luck recently and was baulked for room here last week. He is ready to win again at short notice. THE EXPONENT (2) dropped in class and was straight back into winning form, scoring by over a length. An extra 250m is no problem, and if he can cope with the weight rise, then he can win again. ALIENA (9) has yet to put it all together, but will be improving with the experience. She is not the worst at odds in this sort of field.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Side Eye can offer some nice each-way value.
2 01:08 TCL EARTHWORKS 1300m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Pinky Pie. DEEP PURSUIT (1) has been freshened up since finishing runner-up here as an odds-on favourite 10 weeks ago. He has a good gate and should go close to breaking through for that first win. Follow your money. BELLE NOIRE (12) was checked at a vital stage when finishing midfield at Ruakaka fresh up there 18 days ago. She can make full use of the pole position and is poised to make amends. Each-way. PINKY PIE (7) is racing well and should have won her last start when desperately searching for room late. She is backing up quickly and will be among the hardest to beat. DEEP WATER BAY (2) has changed stables since his last start in January. He has had a tune-up trial, and the market will be your best guide.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pinky Pie is ready to win, and could even be at some each-way value.
3 01:42 SADDLERY WAREHOUSE 1300m
Super Dailo and Shamel Express should set a strong clip. SHAMEL EXPRESS (3) had a good trip and lifted late to score an easy win here nearly 3 weeks ago over this trip. He is up in class, but has Craig Grylls in the saddle, and can repeat the dose. MARS (2) failed to fire on a testing heavy track at Ruakaka 18 days ago. She won here before that over this trip, and is expected to bounce straight back into the money here. ROCKIN ROSIE (4) finished third last time out, 6 weeks ago, and the space between starts will do her no harm. Stick with her on an each-way basis. OPAEA JOE (6) will be peaking third up, and the small field will enhance his top 3 claims. Don't risk him. SUPER DAILO (5) has been below his best recently but has had excuses. Include in combinations in a small field.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Mars can bounce straight back into the top 3 here.
4 02:17 MARSH RACING 970m
Genuine tempo from Distinguished leading Rock Hudson. SUPER STAR DRAGON (3) was fourth as favourite here last time out and has been holding his form strongly over this trip. He can put himself on the pace early and is overdue to break through. SHAVASANA (6) was third here over this trip 10 weeks ago, and is likely to secure a cosy run early from a handy draw. If the gaps come at the right time, she can have the last say. ROCK HUDSON (10) raced greenly on debut at Trentham and was put aside to mature. His lead-up trial form prior was sound, and he can figure in the top 3 here. Let the market be your best guide. DISTINGUISHED (1) has been freshened up since finishing third at Ellerslie in May. He is making his poly track debut and has solid each-way claims. MIVIRGO (4) has not had much luck recently and is worth including in all combinations at odds.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rock Hudson to show something fresh up. Watch the markets.
5 02:54 TAB 970m
Hot tempo expected with Just Faith, Fast Serve and Charmario heading the charge. SEAMSEW (3) found the front early here nearly 3 weeks ago and kept up a strong gallop all the way to hang on to a short-head victory. He might have to work harder to find the lead from a tougher gate this time, but now that he is back in form, he could take some pegging back again. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER (4) did not have all favours here last start and was a fast finishing fourth on the Awapuni poly track before that. Craig Grylls picks up the ride, and if the gaps come at the right time, he can have the last say. ELECTRIC ZOU (5) did not do much in the hands of a 4kg claiming apprentice at Matamata just over 6 weeks ago. He has the advantage of the pole position, and a form reversal is on the cards. HASSTOBEFAST (1) has been racing consistently over this trip and helps her chances by putting herself on the pace early on. She is in a good space and has each-way claims again. CHARMARIO (6) resumes from a spell, and if ready, he could be too good for this field. Watch the market moves.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Knowledge Is Power to have some luck and be hard to beat.
6 03:29 HORSE TRANSPORT LTD 2000m
San Simeon to take the lead and control the tempo. SAN SIMEON (2) made a quick mid-race move and fought on gamely to finish third here nearly 3 weeks ago. He has a superior gate this time, and this field is not strong at all. Hard to beat this time. ORANGE RIVER (6) ran a much better race in a stronger field here last week when finishing fifth. She won't have to improve by much to be a top 3 chance this time. AKCELERANT (3) was not too bad last time out and will have the services of leading hoop Craig Grylls this time, which is an advantage, so expect something even better this time. Include in all combinations. THE BOSS GIRLS (8) has been well in the market in her last couple of starts and has been looking for more ground. She gets her chance to show some decent form in this field. Each-way value. BEST DRESSED (7) battled away fairly well last time out against most of these. A 4kg claim will help, and she is not the worst in a modest contest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: The Boss Girls to be a solid each-way chance in this.
7 04:04 FORSMAN RACING 2000m
Expecting Mahoe to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. WHOSAID (2) turned it on last time out when coming with a big run wide before the turn, and racing away to a comfortable win by over a length last week. He won't find this much harder, and if his mind is on the job, then he can repeat the dose. ELOISE (5) has been disappointing in her last couple of starts on a pair of testing wet turf tracks. She is back racing in an anti-clockwise direction on the poly and is expected to bounce back into the money. Each-way value. JACK IN THE BOX (3) weakened out of it after setting the pace at Arawa Park 11 days ago, after winning there before that. He is worth another chance in this. Include in all combinations. YOU KNOW (7) has not had the best of luck in his last couple of starts, but gets a nice swing with his draw, and can take this out. MADAME MOET (8) has been late clear in her last 2 starts and then rocketed home into second place. She has her first run on this course, and can have the last say. MAHOE (1) is the likely leader. Include.  SUGGESTED PLAY: You Know to provide some each-way value in the get-out stakes.
