OPERA FAN (1) ran a good race when second of nine over 1400m on the polytrack last time. She raced from a handy position but found one too good on the day. She should love the rise to 1600m and from pole position can go one better. GATHERING WINTER (4) finished fourth behind the top selection last time. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Is in the mix. OMNIA (5) showed good improvement when fourth of eight over 1400m on the polytrack last time. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Kabelo Matsunyane is booked to ride and she may have more to come. CASSANDRA (6) has produced two decent efforts to date. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards over the final 350m. She has scope and she should be finishing in the money.

BRUH (10) tried hard when second of eight over 1400m on the polytrack last time when well supported. He will love the rise to 1600m. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be storming home late. FRENCH WAR LORD (2) lost two lengths leaving the start last time and stayed on well to finish fifth. He will be right at home over the extra distance on offer. If jumping on terms, he should throw out a challenge to the top selection. MASTER SPY (4) stayed on well when third of eight over this distance at Turffontein last time. He is a progressive type and can feature. LUNAR DESCENT (9) has finished fourth in his last two starts. He gets the services of the 4kg claiming apprentice Savanna Valjalo which will assist his cause. Has each-way claims.

NEXT OF KIN (4) produced a promising debut effort over this course and distance last start. He moved up like a winner that day before getting outrun late. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better. XENOPHON (10) made the expected natural improvement when a nose second of 10 over 1400m at Greyville last time as the hot favourite. He should have no issues with the drop back to 1200m and is one of the leading contenders. CARDINAL CHIEF (8) ran a decent race when third on debut over 1000m on this course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1200m. He would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement needed. KANAAL SKATER (1) has been disappointing in his last two starts after finishing third on debut. He has scope and can show good improvement.

CELESTIAL DIAMOND (9) has produced two good runs to date. She finished second over this course and distance last time. She is a progressive type and in this field, she can go one better. LUCIENNE (16) found one too good on the day last time. She returns from a spell during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. TRAIL RUNNER (5) returns from a spell. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her when it matters most. CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT (1) stayed on well when third over this course and distance last start when on debut. She would have come on from the run and has each-way claims.

WORLD OF ROYALTY (5) has finished third in both his efforts to date. He ran on well over 1100m last time and should love the rise to 1600m. He is a progressive type and he may find himself in the winner's enclosure. EL CAPITAN (1) cost himself winning last time as he hung outwards over the final 200m. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. If Sean Veale is able to keep him on a straight line, he should go close. QUEEN OF THE AIR (9) tried hard when second over 1400m on the polytrack last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she should give the males a decent run for their money. LIMELIGHT LEGEND (8) has finished second in his last three starts. He drops back to 1600m and another honest run is expected.

IDEAL GIFT (6) ran on well when second of 11 over 2000m on the polytrack last time. Ready to peak in her third run this prep. HODGEPODGE (3) resumes from a spell. Has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. If not in need of the run, she should pose a massive threat. ELEMBEE (10) ran a good race when third over 1800m at the Vaal last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this course and distance. With a bit of luck in the running she should be finishing in the money. PRINCESS PALACE (5) stayed on well when third over 1400m on the polytrack last time. She should have no issues with the rise to 1750m and should be fighting out the finish.

LOCK AND KEY (6) raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on well to finish second. If seeing out the 1750m, she should give the males a run for their money. TROIS TROIS QUATRE (7) is better than his last start run over 1800m at Greyville would suggest. He finished second in his only attempt over this course and distance. On previous form he should be competitive. ROYAL INVITATION (2) last start finished fourth of nine over 2400m at this track. Well placed on this line-up and is sure to be fighting out the finish. FRENCH TRIP (1) returned from a spell last start with over 1600m at Greyville All Weather and finished sixth. Racing in a fitter state and jumping from the inside draw has top-three claims.

RAFA'S BOY (10) is a winner of his last two starts over this course and distance. He showed good speed last time and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. He gets the services of the 4kg claiming apprentice Savanna Valjalo which should assist his cause. He is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick. MAJOR TOMMIE (4) finished 2.3 lengths behind the top selection last start. Gavin Lerena rides and he should strip much fitter. Has to be respected. POLAR LIGHT (7) is better than her last start run would suggest. She makes her handicap debut but is a filly with ability and should have good improvement to come. B FIFTYTWO (12) finished fifth of 11 two runs back then improved last start to finish third of 14 over 1000m at this track. Another forward showing is anticipated.
