SCHLAF (9) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when half a length away in second over 1200m at Nakayama when she was in the firing line all the way. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. TIPITINA (5) resumes from a spell of three months. Looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 1200m at Hakodate. Hard to beat if back in good order as anticipated. LENIS (10) showed good speed to lead over 1400m at Chukyo last start but faded right out of it to finish seventh. Toshiki Akiyama stays on and although yet to win has been in the money on three occasions. Has winning claims on best figures. WILD GOER (2) is a three-start maiden who finished seventh, beaten 6 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at Sapporo. Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat. |

Has a decent record at this trip with six minor placings from seven tries and can get the job done. BIDAAYA (6) closed last campaign with back-to-back placings, the last of which was at Kokura three-and-a-half months ago. Likely to go forward from a nice draw. Among the leading chances. SUNRISE PLUTO (17) turned in a sound effort last time but found one better at Chukyo over 1400m, beaten one length. Drawn out but going well enough to play a role. BARREL (13) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on June 2 finishing 12th and beaten 11 lengths over 1400m at Kyoto. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race. |

Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. VILLAGE EAGLE (4) is fresh from a spell of six months and it is worth noting he has won at the last three first-up runs, last prep over 3350m at Nakayama. Makes plenty of appeal. ISOLE EOLIE (9) resumes. Didn't make an impact at her only run last prep on August 4 finishing fourth and beaten 4.5 lengths over 2200m at this track. Worth plenty of thought. FOR GOOD (5) returned from a spell four weeks ago when he was beaten 9 lengths into fourth over 2000m at Nakayama. Fitter and sure to run well. |
