Plenty of early pressure with Lethal Encounter, Illusive Star and Travanti leading the charge.
TRAVANTI (4) is a tough veteran who resumed with an easy win here 3 weeks ago by 2 lengths. He gets to stay in the same class and the extra 2kg won't be a problem. He has the pole position and can make it 2 wins on the bounce. CHELSEA CUBE (1) has changed stables after having 3 runs back from a spell in South Australia. He should not be hard to place in this area and is sure to be right in the finish. A market watch is advised. LETHAL ENCOUNTER (3) did not come up as expected in 3 starts last prep and has since changed stables. He is having his first run for the new season and can't be totally ruled out of a forward showing at this level. TAORMINA DUCHESS (7) ran on late to finish third here 3 weeks ago and the extra furlong should suit her. Her fitness will be peaking and she has sound each-way claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Travanti to win. |

Red Centre Technology Partners Handicap 1100m
Expecting a strong pace headed by Only The Best, Augusta Moon and Floral Code.
ONLY THE BEST (1) made some solid progress earlier in the year after making the move from Victoria and has now had plenty of time to settle into his new barn. His recent spell would have done him the world of good and his only career win did come fresh up. A 3kg claim will help and at this level, he is the one to beat. FAIRYTALE BLISS (7) is another ex-Victorian who will be having her second local prep and is trying the blinkers for the first time fresh up. A wide draw won't help but in this field, she is capable of a top 3 finish at odds. SPLISH SPLASH (3) is resuming from a spell for her first local run for a new trainer. She only needs to begin with them to have a big chance of taking this out. A market watch is advised. FLORAL CODE (5) is heading the right way with his form after making the move from a Queensland stable earlier in the year. Stan Tsaikos is back in the saddle and the pair merit healthy respect. Derby Day November 2 Handicap 1100m
Plenty of pace from Devilry, The Big Freeze and Superior Power matching motors ahead of She's Tuff Enuff.
LITTLE DITTY (1) was very disappointing last start after getting too far back in the field early on. He did a lot better in his first couple of starts this prep when racing on the pace and with a more positive ride here, he can bounce straight back into the money. A 2kg claim will also enhance his claims. RUPERT'S DELIGHT (3) had a freshen-up before his last start here 3 weeks ago and needed the hit-out. He has never missed a cheque in 5 starts here over the trip, including 2 wins, and should finish a lot closer this time. Each way. LAMOREE (8) did not like leading last time out here last week and faded out in the run home. She is normally thereabouts and is well worth another chance. BEEP TEST (2) ran her best race since moving from NSW when resuming from a spell and running third. She gets another chance in a mediocre field to show some worthwhile form. Each way. Ladbrokes Take On The Fun Handicap 1100m
Good early tempo with several going forward, primarily Brat, Flying Yishu and Talent Quest.
FLYING YISHU (4) did not have much luck from a series of wide draws at the end of his last campaign and is resuming here from the pole position. He normally comes to hand quickly and his most recent win was in this company earlier in the year, All of his 5 career wins have been here and he is the one to beat. BRAT (2) is a tough locally trained gelding who might need the run but with a 2kg claim and as a winner 8 times on the course, he can't be risked. O'TYCOON (1) is a former Sydney-trained gelding who compiled a fairly handy record when trained there and was competitive in stronger fields than what he meets here. He is not too badly off at the weights and if he is ready, can win this. TALENT QUEST (8) had won 3 races in a row before finishing third here a week ago. He has 3kg less to carry this time and with 100m less to travel as well, he can make an immediate return to the winners' circle. SUGGESTED PLAY: Flying Yishu to win. |

TRNT Off the Track Handicap 1600m
Altar Boy and Princess Pancakes will likely pair off in front of the small field.
ALTAR BOY (2) just battled as favourite here last start when finishing third in a 5-horse field and was probably looking for a mile. He will secure a run that suits him from the pole position and is set to resume his winning ways. BEAU FACTOR (1) was too good when winning the same race as the top pick last time out to complete a hat-trick of wins. He is only up 2kg in weight and can remain unbeaten on this track. PRINCESS PANCAKES (3) was half-a-length behind the second pick in the same race last start and may struggle to turn the tables but should still figure in the finish. DIP ME LID (4) does not have the best record on this track and seems to perform better on other tracks. The small field gives him a chance to improve his track stats. KILLZY (5) was a last-start Tuncurry winner who is having his first run for a new trainer. He won't be hard to place in this area and is one to follow as the season progresses. SUGGESTED PLAY: Altar Boy to win. |
