NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:20 Bendigo Locksmiths Maiden Plate 1300m
Plenty of early pace from Romani Ite Domum and Fortysecondstreet, with the added uncertainty surrounding the strong representation of unraced runners engaged. Hayes-trained ROMANI ITE DOMUM (7) led and was beaten a whisker in town on debut over this distance. Raced a short-priced favourite and is sure to have come on. Draws inside and will take a stack of beating. FORTYSECONDSTREET (11) led beaten less than a length at Cranbourne on debut. Currie stays aboard and fitter she can get into the finish. DARK SIMBA (1) debuts for the Hayes camp and will be well prepared. Has the rails gate and the late betting will tell plenty. KALUAKOI (4) is a newcomer to the Danny O'Brien stable and has looked good at the jumpouts coming in. The booking of Lane suggests he can run a big race fresh.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Romani Ite Domum.
2 01:50 Race Services Maiden Plate 1300m
A solid early tempo likely with Stupendous pushing on. UNDERSTUDY (10) just missed in NZ on debut and arrives here on a 278-day return. He's been gelded and maps well. Has jumped out well and trialled and a bold run is likely. DRAMATICUS (4) debuts and as with the above, is in a top metro barn. Has the blinkers on suggesting intent and William's is a positive jockey booking. The gate cruels but he's likely good enough to cope. STUPENDOUS (13) resumes and has been unlucky not to have broken through. SIERRA DEE JAY (9) has plenty of experience and has to be kept onside. CLEO'S AWARD (2) has been showing promising signs at the jumpouts coming into this and is worth including.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Undertstudy.
3 02:25 bet365 Maiden Plate 1500m
Genuine tempo from Parissident leading. SHOCKLETZ (9) raced over 1300m at Ballarat on debut and picked up in good style beaten 1.5L. She jumps from the rail and is sure to have come on. In the premier stable and finds the right race. SPIRITUAL THINKER (4) resumed with a solid effort and has more to give. He's running out of chances but maps for a soft run and a gun jockey is booked suggesting she's pleasing. UPFORTHECHALLENGE (5) peaks and finally draws an inside barrier. She has been close-up her last two and has a handy 2kg claim today. She can keep improving. WOMEN IN UNIFORM (7) got a long way back last start and didn't produce a whole lot. She is among friends here though in what looks a suitable race. Wouldn't surprise to see her in the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Shockletz.
4 03:00 Tim Miller Electrical Maiden Plate 1000m
Pace will be genuine with Shamateur and Souk locking horns in advance of Linkvue and Ziplining. SOUK (8) is in a leading metro barn and will be better for the nose defeat at Ballarat. Maps well and a top hoop is booked. He has a fitness edge on the key danger. SWIFTIES (11) debuts and is also in good hands. Lane is also one of the best and his booking is a decent push. The lead-ups have been good and it would appear to be all systems go. She's likely to make short work of the awkward barrier. LINKVUE (6) resumes and has shown enough to suggest he will be very competitive. Maps well and has to be kept safe. SOCIALLY RED (4) has been busting to win and rates well at best. Has a wide gate but is in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Souk.
5 03:40 Bendigo Skin Clinic Handicap 1100m
Plenty of pace from Hedonist and Flash 'N' Dash matching motors. WINNASEDGE (4) is the one to beat with the stablemate contesting the Danehill at Flemington yesterday. Won the Maiden on debut and then raced favourite in a $150,000 Quality at Sandown. That's good form and Currie has been with him throughout. FLUENT (8) spaced the Maidens on the synthetic here on debut and has been kept up to the mark with a sharp turf trial. Draws to advantage and he's had plenty of support in early markets. LANDMARK (1) had excuses as favourite at Sandown-Hillside off a freshen. He missed a whisker prior in an Open 2 at Flemington (soft track) posting a strong figure. He has to be kept safe. HEDONIST (2) resumed here narrowly beaten in this grade and will build on that. Keeps John Allen and won't have to improve much to make the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Winnasedge.
6 04:15 Orrcon steel Handicap 1100m
Pondalowie and Bay Of Zea to apply plenty of early pressure over the sprint journey. Competitive. SHE'S BULLETPROOF (2) resumes and rates clear of the others on what we've seen. Performs fresh and brings compelling metro form. She's trialled well with a gun hoop booked and he sticks aboard. Has a handy gate and is the one to beat. BAY OF ZEA (9) missed a whisker at Seymour first-up off a run in Stakes grade. She is proven second-up and has more up her sleeve. She has plenty of early speed and will manage the awkward barrier. PONDALOWIE (8) resumes and is proven fresh. She has plenty of ability and is ready to go. SUBSIX (3) rates equally off his Cranbourne win this grade. She has more to give and a top hoop is booked. He can make the finish with average luck from the outside gate. ELENA MONTERO (12) has her third start and is promising. Just missed as favourite last time at this level but the awkward gate is a niggle.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing She's Bulletproof.
7 04:50 Budget Car & Truck Hire Handicap 1300m
Moderate tempo with Turn Up The Night leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. SACRAMENTAL (12) resumed narrowly beaten at Sandown-Hillside and is further improved. He'd come off a try at Group level and is sure to have come on. He rates to go one better. CHANGING COLOURS (15) impressed winning his Maiden on debut heavily bet and he resumes today and will be naturally improved. A gun hoop is booked suggesting the mare is pleasing. HOWDY (16) is ready to fire off two solid placings at this level. Raced a short-priced favourite at Seymour last time and maps for a soft run. SHINJUKU (5) will race over further but has plenty of ability and has to be considered. Has won fresh this distance range and owns an 800m trial win. In a top barn and the betting will be key.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sacramental to win.
8 05:20 Apiam Animal Health Handicap 1600m
Good early pace from Gin O'clock, Eddystone and Netanyahu going forward to hold out some other speedy customers. SURE (5) resumes seeking the hat trick and has been winning by spaces. Comes back plenty in grade and brings a sharp trial. Maps well and can return even better. GIN O'CLOCK (3) led and won comfortably at Geelong this grade and then just missed a place in an Adelaide 70. Uses the rail and the 2kg claim is handy. He's also in a top metro barn and has claims. MORRYL MORAL (7) rates similarly and forget his latest start in a metro 70 where he pulled up with an issue. He's in the premier stable and the on-pacer will get every chance to bounce. BRUNGLE CREEK (6) resumed with an easy 64 win in the country over this distance and will be around the mark building on that.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing sure to win. Sure
