NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:30 Sheen Panel Service Pakenham Maiden Plate 1000m
Always plenty of early pressure in sprint races such as this with a large contingent of unraced runners. PATRIOT STAR (9) is a nicely bred two-year-old filly on debut. By Deep Field from National Anthem who has produced her share of winners. Jumped out well for this and finds a winnable race. Keep very safe. THE SHOWVINIST (7) was well in the market on debut last time out and ran well but found a couple better over 1200m at Ballarat Synthetic. Right in this. ALAA PLENTY (6) resumes from a spell of eight months. Could only manage to finish fifth at the latest run over 1000m in the G3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington. This should suit better. Looks an improver. PLANET MARS (3) could be an improver.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Patriot Star to win.

Solid tempo with Daring Spirit going forward from the good gate. BEATLE (2) showed good early speed from the inside draw last start before finishing second over 1000m at this track. Ready to peak now and will be very hard to catch. DARING SPIRIT (11) hasn't raced since finishing 4 lengths back in fifth over 1406m at Benalla six-and-a-half months ago. Winner of a recent trial. Watch the market. SWITCHBLADE (9) has been around the mark of late, finishing second last time over 1100m at Ballarat Synthetic. Best figures measure up and is sure to run well. SUPIDO'S CHOICE (8) is lightly raced and will be hard to hold out second-up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: El Beatle to win.
3 01:30 Dalton Consulting Engineers Maiden Plate 1400m
Genuine tempo from First Blessing booting up from the rails draw to join Oriskany and Loves Affection in the early tussle. FIRST BLESSING (6) is a two-start maiden who resumed from a spell last start and was beaten 4 lengths when fourth over 1200m at this track. Should settle handy in the run. Hard to beat. MADE THE EFFORT (9) is a 13-start maiden who has been in the money at her last couple of runs, the latest when third over 1400m at this track. Tread carefully but can certainly figure. LAKE VOSTOK (7) was just fair first up, finishing sixth over 1200m at this track. Should appreciate the extra ground this time. Fitter and a winning hope. REACTIVATE (3) settled well back from a wide draw last time then worked home okay at Cranbourne. Suited by this trip now.  SUGGESTED PLAY: First Blessing to win.
4 02:00 Precision Mechanical Services Maiden Plate 1600m
Reasonable tempo with No Outcast probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. CHA CHA CHANGES (5) was good on debut in better company last start over 1600m at this track when second, beaten a long neck. Rates highly off that and will take beating with natural improvement. MINAMISHIMA (7) ran a better race last start to finish a close second over 1400m at Pakenham after being in the firing line on the turn. Rates a strong each way hope. MIZEN (2) finished 5 lengths away in fifth here last time out. Can figure on the quick turnaround. NO OUTCAST (3) might be able to improve third-up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cha Cha Changes to win.
5 02:30 Bridgestone Select Pakenham Handicap 1600m
Moderate tempo with Cantolago leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. SUPER SOLAR (2) finished fourth last time out over 1600m at this track, beaten 4 lengths. Finds a winnable race here, dropping a few grades from a Bm70 last time. Rates highly. MR TRAFFICANTI (4) settled well back and never threatened when ninth over 1500m at Bendigo last time out. This race suits and he should be hard to hold out. PHAROAH'S DAUGHTER (7) will appreciate the step back in grade after finishing 11th last start over 1200m at Caulfield, that effort coming on the back of a win two back at this track. Can figure in the finish back in this company. ILUVCOFFEE (5) ran a better race last start to finish seventh over 1400m at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths. In the mix over this longer trip.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Super Solar on top.
6 03:00 Sportsbet Nobody Does It Easier Handicap 1600m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Nystrom. REMUDA (1) closed off strongly last start to get up for third, beaten 0.6 lengths, over 1400m at this track when fresh from a spell. Fitter for that and the rise to 1600m here suits ideally. Top show. CORTAIN (3) finished second at Bendigo two runs back before a poor showing at Seymour. Fitter third-up and his best would go close. NYSTROM (4) ran below expectations last time after being in contention on the bend at Cranbourne, finishing ninth and beaten 5 lengths starting at $10. Can bounce back. ARTIE'S DYNAMITE (11) placed last start over 2025m at Moe. Back in trip is the query but he's in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Remuda on top.
7 03:30 RW Advisory Group Handicap 2200m
Tavino Bay and Nama Dude will press forward early in a keen battle for top spot. MYSTIC HIGH (12) has won 1 from 11 but put in a good effort to finish fourth last time out over 2082m on turf at Moe, beaten just 1.5 lengths. First try on synthetic today. Drawn to get back but if the tempo is on she'll go close. LEGATUS (5) is racing well. She lifted strongly but just failed to pick up the winner last start over 2200m at this track. Another drawn to get a long way back but won't need to improve much to take this out. DJOCKOVIC (6) has been about the mark without winning, the latest effort a third over 2000m at Wangaratta. Can roll forward and give a sight. ANTHURIUM (4) finished out of the placings last start when resuming on turf at Cranbourne over 1600m. On a synthetic track for the first time. Has some upside and should be included.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Mystic High.
8 04:00 Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap 1200m
Strong early tempo with Burton Street driving forward from an outside gate and Milo also pushing ahead. MILO (7) made a very strong debut at this track and distance, backed into start $1.50 and scoring with authority, recording a 2.25 length victory. Open to plenty of improvement and will take beating again. WRITTEN BLIGH (10) tackled a heavy track last start at Ballarat and was okay, finishing fourth but beaten 9 lengths. Did bump into the very talented Pharari there who won by 6, so her effort was good considering. She's placed twice on synthetic tracks and looks well placed here. WRITTEN ROYALTY (1) produced a reasonable effort to finish 3 lengths away in third last start over 1200m at this track when he did his best work late. Racing well with a first-up win and should be in the finish. DUEL VENTURE (6) continues to race well and should be running on nicely. OVER BOOST (2) can give cheek.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Milo & Written Bligh quinella.
9 04:30 Shanks Electrical Handicap 1000m
Strong early tempo assured with Esprit Spirit hunting up. ESPRIT SPIRIT (4) made a strong debut at Sale over 1105m, showing good speed to control the race and hold on to win by half a length. Better for that and can improve off the short spell. Hard to catch again. POCKET SIZE (7) raced on the speed and lifted to score by half a length at this track and distance when resuming from a break last time out. Can measure up. DEVILS DELIGHT (6) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fifth, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 1000m at Sale. Will strip fitter and can find peak form this time. ESTE DIA (2) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on February 7 finishing seventh and beaten 4 lengths over 1200m at Sandown-Lakeside. Has found the right race and is worth including.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Esprit Spirit on top.
