NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:35 Max Blakiston / Ian Rees 2YO Maiden Plate 1100m
Many of these step out for the first time so a frantic pace is likely early on over this sharp trip. FLATTERED (12) is the one with race experience who will take a bit of beating. She's run second at her past two starts, the latest behind a smart type at Sandown-Hillside when hitting the line strongly. Kept fresh for this, she should be very hard to hold out. CRIME OF PASSION (10) is a Zoustar filly on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard. She won a recent jump out and looks to have a bit of talent. GALLANT SON (5) is a Written Tycoon colt on debut for Moody & Coleman. Respecting. MISS COTOLETTA (13) is a Flying Artie filly on debut for the Jason Warren yard. She's won a jump out at Mornington and can run well. ENRIGHT (3) is a Yes Yes Yes colt on debut for the Freedman yard who should measure up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Flattered to win.
2 12:05 Helen Cantwell 2YO Maiden Plate 1100m
Lots of unknowns here but Dreamwriter will be among those going forward at a solid tempo. DREAMWRITER (10) has run second in all three starts to date with a win looking close. She was only beaten a length in a high rating maiden behind Oodnadatta at Geelong last start and will be very hard to catch here. GAMBINO (4) is a colt by leading sire Written Tycoon on debut. He's won a trial leading in and must be respected. CARAVANSERAI (2) resumes off a Rosehill trial win. This suits better than last campaign. ETERNAL (11) next best on debut.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Dreamwriter.
3 12:35 Tony Hart 3YO Maiden Plate 1400m
Genuine pace with Al Duca taking up the running ahead of Jimannie. AL DUCA (1) looks the one to beat off a strong debut at Geelong, beaten a length by Tatsu when finishing second. Showed good speed there and will fitter and better for that experience. Should prove very hard to catch. NEWZOU (13) ran well first-up at Echuca over 1300m, beaten as a $2.50 chance but holding down second. She maps for a good run here from the soft draw and will take beating. FLANAGAN (5) was just behind Al Duca first-up at Geelong and will strip fitter. May be looking for a bit more ground now but should be in the finish. FIOREEN (10) can run well fresh.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Al Duca to win.
4 01:10 Anthony Lee Maiden Plate 2200m
Nothing to run them along so it might be a trot and canter. SACREDARRO (4) has placed in both starts to date, just missing at Sandown-Hillside first-up before a long third last start at Bendigo. He was beaten nearly 12 lengths there as the $1.60 favourite but did still run third and the race shape didn't suit at all. Gets up in trip now which will suit and he can repay the faith. CYCLONE CARA (8) steps up in trip on the quick turnaround. Her run here two back over 1717m was good. This trip is a slight query. DELURE (2) could be ready to improve out to this distance third up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sacredarro to win.
5 01:45 Bill Jones Maiden Plate 1000m
Cyclone Coco and Reward For Freedom have good gate speed and should be able to cross and vie for early honours. VOLANDER (13) resumes. She was very good first-up at Caulfield in the $1 million Vobis Showdown before an even effort, again at Caulfield. Much better suited in this race and the 1000m from an inside draw should also suit nicely. ONNAMUSHA (12) resumes. She placed in a strong maiden first-up at Ballarat last time in and a repeat of that effort would go close in this. MET WITH LUCK (3) is a former Hong Kong galloper who comes to the Hayes yard here and has won a trial very easily at Bendigo leading in. Big watch. CHAMPAGNE DOCTOR (7) is a filly on debut for the Jamie Edwards yard who has won a recent jump out at Geelong. Can figure. GLOBAL KING (2) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Volander to win.
6 02:20 Thelma Coster BM58 Handicap 1000m
Plenty of early pressure with Fun With Flags, Accending and I'm Cheeky leading the charge. ACCENDING (5) is a lightly raced 3yo filly who resumed at Mornington over this trip, no match for a smart winner but running well for second with scope to improve. She showed promise in her maiden campaign and can go on with it this time in. PIASTRI (4) resumes. He's off a fairly long spell here but showed good ability last time in and has won a trial at Bendigo in readiness. Drawn wide here and likely to get a fair way back is the query, but he's good enough. FUN WITH FLAGS (9) resumes for a new stable. She was a winner over this trip on debut at Pakenham before flopping at Morphettville. Keep safe. DOMINANT MISS (11) won first up and could sneak into the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Accending to win.
7 02:55 Wayne Pollock F&M BM64 Handicap 1200m
Sizzling pace from the outset from Readyinfive and Juice Box locking horns ahead of Refreshing and Gracie's Rain. EXCEED THE DREAM (10) resumes. She was racing well in some handy races last time in since a maiden win at Moonee Valley and has won a trial easily leading in at Bendigo. GRACIE'S RAIN (15) was good first-up in a bunched finish at Sandown-Hillside before an even effort last time on the Lakeside circuit. Can bounce back. READYINFIVE (9) resumes having won narrowly on debut at Yarra Valley. Harder here but is open to improvement. STAR HONOUR (5) next best in an open race.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Exceed The Dream on top.
8 03:30 David Wilson BM70 Handicap 1400m
Saville Street and Montather to take up the running at a strong tempo. GENERAL FIREPOWER (1) will prove very hard to catch if able to replicate what he did last start at Sandown-Lakeside, given an easy time in front and making the most of it, racing away to score by 4.5 lengths. No harder here and he's a winner here already. NOBLE CONQUEROR (7) ran out a smart winner here second-up in a slightly easier race, proving far too good as the even money favourite. Will only strip fitter and can measure up. GRONKOWSKI (6) continues to race well, an easy winner at Warrnambool two back before a strong second behind a progressive at Sandown-Lakeside. That form should hold up. SAVILLE STREET (15) is right in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: General Firepower to win.
9 04:05 Ladbroke It! BM64 Handicap 1717m
Just an even tempo wit no noted leaders. BRAVE MISS (11) is a handy type who should take some beating here. A dominant winner first up at Werribee, she was poor at Pakenham but bounced back with a strong closing second at Mornington. Any extra ground will only suit more now and she can take this out. AIMING (6) is racing well and is always a strong hope in this grade. She was only beaten two lengths in a Bm78 last time out which reads well. MAXXI BON (13) was solid first-up at this track and will be fitter for the rise in trip. In the mix. NORTHERN BARRAGE (7) was good first up at Geelong when beaten under a length. Fitter for that and should be hard to hold out. NORMA'S FLEET (18) next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Brave Miss to win.
