Genuine pace with Big Wave taking up the running ahead of The Precursor and El Arish. STEELY MAN (6) tried hard and was not far from the winner in the G2 Rich Hill mile here 10 days ago, and he will notice the drop down in grade here. A wide draw won't make it easy, but with some luck in the running, he can have a say in the outcome of this race. THE PRECURSOR (7) is a very progressive staying type who has been patiently handled throughout his career. He was too big and too strong fresh up at New Plymouth just over a fortnight ago, and if a mile is not already too short for him, then he can more than measure up in this company as well. BIG WAVE (1) has been beaten by a couple of wide draws recently, and with a much kinder gate this time, he can bounce back into form. Each way value. PEERLESS (13) has needed both of his starts back from a spell, and he has won on this track last season. He has a good draw, and Craig Grylls sticks with him. Don't risk him. BILLY BLINX (9) got too far out of his ground at Trentham last time out, but is worth including in all combos here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Steely Man each way.
