Marocchino and Mood Swings to take up the running at a strong tempo. The feature of the day, the Belmont Sprint and it's hard to go past WESTERN EMPIRE (2). The G1 winner is back to his best after returning to Team Williams and he won pulling away at Northam, scoring by 2.4L. May want further now, but he's just a class above his rivals and he should be winning again. MAGNIFICENT ANDY (9) was good from the back in the Northam Stakes and usually peaks third-up, where he's won 2/4. Will need things to go his way, but he's likely to be right in the finish if he can build on what he did last time out. ALSEPHINA (12) creates plenty of interest on resumption. She was a beaten favourite in the G1 Railway and wasn't out of place in the Northerly during the spring. 1400m first-up looks perfect and she can make her presence felt. BABY PARIS (14) is racing well of late and can put herself close to the speed. Worth including. THE VELVET QUEEN (15) goes well fresh and can run into the placings at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Western Empire can win again.
