Alice Springs   10 Jan 2026

GOING: G

Alice Springs Cup Carnival April 11th-May 4th 2026 Handicap 1000m

Track: Good   Clear (Max: 39)   Rail: True.

They should get along early on with plenty of speed on show. DOWN THE WICKET (5) returns after a spell of five months. Looking to emulate his win at Darwin at the beginning of last prep. Should be hard to stop. The well-related BAHAMA BAY (3) (half to G2 winner and G1 placed Bon's A Pearla) finished 1.2 lengths back in fifth over 1000m at this track last time out after a gutsy win the start prior. Good enough to take this out. EXPERT WITNESS (4) is yet to find the winners' list this time in work but has two placings from four outings this preparation, finishing a neck away in third most recently over 1000m here. Must be included in calculations. GREAT GUST (2) turned in a fine effort to score by a nose at today's course and distance last start in a nice progression on the first-up run. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Down The Wicket to return a winner.
