Solid tempo anticipated with Hell's Citi and Highly Spoken pressing forward with Ah Kum not far away. ALABRAE (4) rattled home from the rear last start to just miss in a close finish over 1500m on the Scarpside here. He's a lightly-raced gelding and showed last start he has some ability. Maps for a closer run this time and if he can run up to his sectionals last start, he'll be hard to hold out. WOLFMAN (2) missed by 2.1L last start at Ascot but steps up to the mile for just the second time today. He was placed at his only attempt over the mile and rates highly on his recent form. Can put his best foot forward. LONG WAIT (9) is a long-time maiden but showed she's knocking on the door in recent efforts. She was just too far back to threaten at Albany last start when favourite, but the run prior suggested she wasn't far away. CJP rides now and she can feature. HELL'S CITI (1) should appreciate the slight rise in trip and will be flying home late in the race. HIGHLY SPOKEN (3) is better than he showed last start and can bounce back as he steps up in trip again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Alabrae to shed the maiden tag.
