Solid tempo. HOLDOUT (7) showed plenty his first preparation and needed the first-up outing in stronger than this. Chris Parnham is reunited and fitter he will be tough to beat. PETITE VITESSE (13) found a place at Ascot first-up and it was a decent effort after settling well back from a wide gate. Draws awkwardly again but will be fitter and with average luck can make the finish. VERNACULAR (14) resumes and brings a decent figure from his debut effort. Has trialled solidly and will be naturally improved. PATRIONIC STAR (3) just missed at York and can build on that. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Holdout.
