Powerful Majik has good early speed and can set a decent tempo.
Deep maiden with a few chances. BLAZING SWORD (2) has returned in good order, missing out by just 0.6 lengths here first-up then going even closer at Swan Hill last start. Comes back 100m which is the only query, otherwise he looks ready to win. PRIDE OF JEZZA (6) raced wide through the early and middles stages last time out and the effort told in a 1400m Corowa maiden. Again draws awkwardly but with even luck in the run he is a winning hope. EN FLIQUE (10) made it three minor placings from as many runs this prep when a closing second over 1412m at Echuca recently. Needs this trip and from a nice draw should get all the favours. RIVERBEND UNICORN (7) opened this prep with a couple of nice efforts over 1400m then failed when extended to 1675m at Wagga Riverside last time. Worth another chance coming back in distance. GIOIA RIVER (12) caught the eye late at Wagga last time. Not sure coming back in distance is the right move but she should be strong late again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Blazing Sword just gets the nod in a tricky one.
