SMOTHER (9) will find this easier than a first up run in a rich maiden at Hawkesbury, sent around a $5 chance there but just battling late on soft ground. Comes back a notch here and will be fitter for that anyway. Go close. MERCHANT OF GREECE (6) was disappointing second up at Werribee when in the market but that track has brought a few undone in the past and he's one the market has always liked. Wouldn't surprise if he put it all together. UNRIDDLE (11) has been good at his past couple, beaten under a length over this track and distance last time out. He's a 17 start maiden but should be thereabouts again. BLANCHE BASS (12) resumes having shown glimpses in her maiden campaign. Watch the betting. FRENCH CLASS (4) can sneak into the finish.
