Many of these youngsters step out for the first time so a strong pace is anticipated. Tricky little 2yo affair. CARNEVALE (2) resumes having run well on debut in the G3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington on debut, well supported in the betting there when a solid fourth. He's a well-bred colt who should be an improver this time around. EXACTING STANDARD (3) ran a great race on debut at Bendigo, showing speed over the 1000m and boxing on well for a narrow second. He should come on from that and take catching. MARBLES (10) debuted in a G3 race in Adelaide, kept safe in betting there and running an honest race for fifth. She can improve and figure in the finish. BETTYLOU WHO (8) is a filly by Zousain on debut for the Begg yard who has trialled well enough, respecting. ATTENTION PLEASE (6) is a filly by Microphone on debut for the Yeomans yard who has been jumping out well here and can figure with Jamie Melham booked. SUGGESTED PLAY: Carnevale to win.
