Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Cats Quarters. DECEMBER SKY (1) placed twice in a row in the 1500-1600m range before failing to run on over 1850m at Newcastle last start. Perfectly placed back to the mile in a country maiden. THIRTEENTH MAN (8) ran easily the best race of his three-start career when beaten just over a length over 1400m at Taree last time out. Found the line well that day so the extra furlong should hold no fears. OBVIOUSLY ALBERT (3) raced handy all the way and held on for a close third when resuming over 1400m at Taree recently. Unproven at this distance but he is back in good shape and looks up to the task. POWER OF HOPE (4) appreciated a bit firmer going last start when just outside the placings over 1400m at Taree. Fitter now and not out of the equation. CATS QUARTERS (9) finds it hard to get into the frame but recent efforts have been sound. Each-way chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on December Sky.
