LAST STYLEBENDER (1) will be bringing some solid recent Belmont efforts into this, and that form generally holds up strongly on this track. MANTUA (7) did not run on as expected last start in a similar field off an unsuitable tempo, and he is expected to finish closer here with a drop back to 1000m. Stick with him. DIEGO DYNAMITE (6) finished third at Bunbury last start from a wide gate, and he carries only 50kg in this after a 4kg claim. Watch for him to be hitting the line late. TOM AND PAT EELES MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1100m
Tricky one to map with a number of debutants but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. OFFICIAL BUSINESS (2) showed talent as a juvenile and has made further improvement this season with a brace of second place finishes from as many starts. Dropping back from 1200m to 1100m looks to be the right move, and he can get the job done this time. SEVEN NO TRUMPS (8) has been improving in each of his trials this year, winning the most recent of those just over a week ago as a gelding. A good draw should see him make an immediate impact on race day. Follow the market confidence. FIREARM (1) was a promising juvenile, who resumes from a spell that would have done him the world of good. A recent trial will have him fit, and if he doesn't need another hit-out, he should be very competitive fresh up. FROSTED WARRIOR (3) resumes as a gelding, and now that his mind is fully focused on racing, he can race up to the talent he has shown at the trials. Keep him safe. Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Biscuits. FARADIO (1) is getting back to the sort of form that he showed as a 3YO last season after finishing third by a neck here 10 days ago over 1300m. He will relish the step up to a mile and can get the job done this time. RORY'S REVENGE (3) made up a huge slice of ground to finish fourth here nearly 3 weeks ago at long odds. William Pike steps into the irons, and he will be hard to beat, but the big odds will not be there this time. RUTHLESS BLOOM (9) finished just as quickly as the second pick when finishing just ahead of that runner in third place in the same race. She could settle a touch closer to the pace here and is another each-way hope in an even contest. SHE'S SOME CRAIC (8) battled on well enough when finishing fourth here last start, and she has been crying out for this trip for some time. Stick with her for all top 4 combos. WREXHAM (2) motored home late to finish third at Belmont 2 weeks ago and will try a 1600m for the first time here. Keep him safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rory's Revenge each way. |

MAX AND DOSS SMITH MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1300m
Genuine tempo from Grey Ol' Day leading Run Rupert Run. GREY OL' DAY (8) set the pace and kept on kicking to hold onto third place when resuming from a spell at Belmont 11 days ago, and he will be dropping right down in class for this. He had won a trial prior to that recent effort and should be spot on for this. On top. MON VISAGE (13) finished less than a length from the winner in fourth place at Belmont a fortnight ago over 1300m when racing out of her grade, and with a return to maiden class, with 7.5kg less to carry, she does look very well placed to win. WESTERN PHOENIX (12) had been to the fore at the trials prior to finishing sixth on debut at Belmont where he learned a lot from the experience. He has top 3 claims in this. MAJESTIC MIRAGE (14) makes her debut over a distance that may already be too short for her, but she should be finding the line late, so keep her safe. MERCHANT TRADER (3) showed pace at Kalgoorlie last start before fading out to finish fourth. He has 100m less to travel here and could take some catching again. Off the low draw The Stalagmite can take it up a race lacking a genuine leader. UNANSWERED (6) did well off a wide gate when finishing fourth at Belmont 2 weeks ago when running on strongly from well back. He is drawn out again for this, but will have the services of William Pike, and that usually makes all the difference. On top. WAR TRAIL (2) ended his initial prep with a close-up second at Bunbury before being put aside to mature. He has had 3 tune-up trials leading into his return and should not be in this class for long. XELCIMUS (3) gets back, and is usually running on in her races, although she did have an excuse last start when racing too keenly in the running. She has had a gear chance since then, and will be peaking at the right time, so stick with her. EMPIRE OF ROME (9) made his debut out of his rightful class and was not far off the money. He drops 5kg, and with the aid of the pole position, he is worth including in all combinations. GOD'S CHOICE (12) will be suited by the step up to 1300m for the first time, and she can continue to improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Unanswered can win this. |

PROCON NORTHAM CUP SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER HANDICAP 2200m
A race that lacks early pressure. HEAVENLY RAPTURE (6) was not disgraced in stakes company as a 3YO and she is on her way back to that sort of level after having 3 starts back from a spell. The key here is the step up to 2200m, and if she puts her best hoof forward, she is the one to beat. OLDEN (4) is a durable veteran who broke a long win drought with an easy win over this trip 10 days ago on this track. That was only his third start for Nadia Bishop, and in a field that is no harder, who says he cannot win again. HE'S ARCHIE (8) ran on late to finish third behind the second pick in the same race last start. He is likely to get back, so the wide draw is not a factor, and if the tempo is genuine, he can figure in the top 3 again. ICANDOIT ONMYOWN (9) has turned a corner with his form in his last couple of starts on this track, winning, and then finishing runner up to the second pick last time out. She will be competitive once more. AH KUM (10) is likely to race on the pace from a good gate and is worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Heavenly Rapture is the one to beat. |

FASHIONS OF THE FIELD SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER HANDICAP 1400m
Reasonable tempo with Ain'tsobad probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. SUMMER'S LEGACY (3) looked to be in need of her resuming run when peaking late on her run to finish fifth fresh up at Bunbury nearly 2 weeks ago. The powerful Williams stable will have her at peak fitness second up, and she is good enough to take this out. CHOUX SHOE (7) may not win often, but she has been very consistent through the winter months. She carries 2kg less than her last start at Belmont when fifth, and she can figure in the top 3 again with the right run. MY JIMMY (8) snapped a win drought when storming home to score by well over a length at Bunbury nearly a fortnight ago. He only rises 1.5kg for a similar assignment, and he can repeat the dose. PURE OBSESSION (6) did not have all favours off a wide trip at Belmont last start when following on from a gutsy effort for second there before that. With some better luck, he can bounce straight back into the money here. TOO MUCH TALK (4) is a capable veteran on this day, and his recent form will hold up in this. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Summer's Legacy is the one to beat. |

KUNINE GRAZING HANDICAP 1400m
Expecting About Turn to take up the running with Playing Free and Sponge Cake close at hand. BILLIONAIRE'S ROW (2) showed talent in a short initial prep, and he would have only gone the right way over his spell as evidenced by a recent Lark trial win where he still had plenty of improvement to come in his condition. He should be sharp enough fresh up to sprint a good 1400m, so we have him on top. PLAYING SOLO (11) was a beaten favourite fresh up at Belmont and then scored a tough win by a short head at Bunbury nearly 2 weeks ago. A wide draw makes it tougher here, but he will still be fighting out the finish. JEMCONI (7) overcame a tough trip to get in the final stride to score by a nose fresh up at Belmont over 1200m. The extra 200m at this stage of her prep is ideal, and she has the right draw to repeat the dose. HOT CHIX LANE (6) battled away gamely last start for fifth at Belmont when following on from her maiden win there late last month. Keep her safe in all top 4 combos. ONE TARGET (12) was back in form with a solid second here 2 weeks ago. Stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Billionaire's Row can win this. |
