PEARL OF DUBAI (8) (half to 2xG1 winner and stallion Pride Of Dubai) resumes here but had been playing her trade at Group and Listed level before the spell and should find this assignment much more to her liking. Placed two of three over this distance range and has revved up for this with a recent trial. Rates the testing material against this line-up. MYSTICAL (7) is another first-up but looked handy winning the latest trial and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Looms as the main danger. MOVIE STAR (6) (half to G2 winner Robusto) has been thereabouts in all three career outings to date and gets the reliable Waller/McDonald combination from the low draw. In the mix. Genuine pace with Blessed Eagle taking up the running ahead of De Armas and Phillip Island. Competitive affair. PHILLIP ISLAND (2) just missed the frame in G3 company last time out and will appreciate the drop back in grade here. Boasts a win over this distance range and will be cherry-ripe now fourth run back from the spell. Sure to be right there when the whips are cracking. The well-related REACHIN' OUT (7) (half to G2 winner and 3xG1 placed Zousain) didn't measure up at G2 level when resuming but will have come on with that run now under the belt. Watch for sharp improvement. PEYTON (6) shed the maiden tag at Gosford first-up and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Include from the inside marble. BLESSED EAGLE (3) also hails from a handy family (half to Listed winner Royal Tribute) and must be respected out of the Waterhouse/Bott yard. Only needs some luck crossing from the wide draw to be featuring in the finish. THE THORNCASTER (9) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 2,7,6,3. |

Gets the services of Lloyd on board from the low draw and should give backers a sight. Import GRAFTON STREET (5) has hit the frame in both local outings to date and will be ready for the step-up in trip now. Has to be included in calculations. MY CHARM (6) will be rock-hard fit now fourth-up from the break and is more than capable enough on her day. Top-three candidate on best figures. SUPREME SOVEREIGN (9) has placed around this circuit and is usually thereabouts. One for the exotics players. The well-related COUNTY KILKENNY (7) (half to G2 winner Waterford) best of the rest. SNEAKY CHOICE (9) saves her best form for this mile journey with a win and a second from just two attempts. Top-three credentials. CUBAN CIGAR (2) hasn't been too far away in Saturday metro grade of late and should find this affair a bit easier. Gets 3kg off with the claim and ready to peak now fourth-up from the spell. No reason why he cannot take this out. BOTANICAL BOY (3) has been just behind the placegetters in all three outings this campaign and will appreciate the step-up to the mile now. Well placed on best figures. The well-related LEICA STORM (9) (full to G2 winner and G1 placed Snitty Kitty) gets Lloyd on top from a low draw and shouldn't be discounted lightly. The well-related BARTOLF (4) (half to G3 winner Jal Lei) has a handy record over this distance range with two wins and two seconds from six attempts and gets gun hoop J Mac on board from a low draw. Watch for a spike in form. DIDDLE DUMPLING (10) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time out but go in the solid second at Canterbury when resuming. In the mix. MALUKU (4) hasn't done much wrong with two wins and a second from three starts to date and will strip fitter with that first-up effort now in the locker. Looks to have plenty of upside and only needs some luck navigating from the sticky draw to be playing a major role in the outcome. AGATHA (10) just missed the frame in town when resuming and wasn't too far away from the winner. Better for that hit-out and a win is not out of the equation. LITTLE IRIS (6) resumes here but the form she showed in her first campaign was good enough for a race of this nature. Can run a race while fresh. COOL WATERS (13) grows a leg for hoop Morgan who has two wins and a placing from just three steers. Don't dismiss lightly. SCILLATO (1) next in line with J Mac on top. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Maluku. |
