SPRING RACING CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1500m
Wurzburg is the probable leader in the small field. GREAT TIMES AHEAD (3) goes on top in an open race after a Hawkesbury debut that had more merit than his price suggested. Unwanted in the market, he struck an early block but was good late. With that experience and blinkers first time, he has scope to improve sharply. WIN STAR (7) has put together placings at Doomben and Ipswich, the latest as a well-supported favourite. She has the right profile fourth-up if the 1500m does not stretch her. WURZBURG (4) needs to lift off an Ipswich fifth, but a close Deagon trial and natural improvement keep him in discussion. ANDER'S DREAM (5) has been safely held at Ipswich but is race fit, gets blinkers and can be more competitive if she runs out the trip. SUGGESTED PLAY: Great Times Ahead to win. |

SKY RACING Maiden Plate 1800m
Looks a keen contest with Kowloon Magnate and Kalamia King pressing for the lead with Crunch Time and Maremoto close at hand. MAREMOTO (11) was only beaten a neck in third at Newcastle two back when held up before closing strongly. Less impressive last time despite finishing second but is knocking on the door and doesn't need to improve much to finally convert. KOWLOON MAGNATE (5) is the clear danger after being pipped at Sunshine Coast on soft ground, and his placings across the border add further depth. KALAMIA KING (4) is in the mix after leading and tiring over 2224m at the Gold Coast. The shorter trip helps. CRUNCH TIME (3) improved at Dalby over 2000m and has a winning hope if the drop back to 1800m is no negative, though his prior Ipswich run was plain. SUGGESTED PLAY: Maremoto to win. |

Tasman Bay has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. READY FOR AIMEE (2) fell a head shy from making it two on the bounce at Ipswich, with the winner saluting again in Saturday grade. Strips rock-hard fit and gets in well again at the weights with Pozman claiming 3kgs. PEARLS IN JUNE (7) returns off a six-week freshening after winning comfortably here last time when first-up. Boasts a strong record over this track and trip and is drawn favourably with more to offer. Big threat. TASMAN BAY (3) has returned in good order and finds another suitable contest, coming off a Doomben third after winning there. Sure to be competitive again. EXUBERANCE (5) is the value danger after a sound fourth in Saturday company here when wide throughout. Not underestimating. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Ready For Aimee to win. |

Genuine tempo from Anderlay leading Brazen Diva. HELL OR HEAVEN (11) is the top pick on juvenile form that reads well for this, notably a fourth in a 2YO Open at Ipswich on heavy ground, and a close second there the run prior. Has been fitted with a solid trial at Deagon and is drawn to get all the favours. Bold showing anticipated. SPEEDY CROWN (4) has been close in both runs this campaign, finishing fifth at Doomben last week after a sound Ipswich fourth. Looks ready to peak third-up and gets in well with 2kg claim. Genuine threat. FINAL CRUSADE (10) also has the right profile fresh. He was last sighted finishing midfield in a million dollar Gold Coast 2YO race, taken out by the talented The Next Episode. Fitted with a trial and gets the key booking of Thompson. Have to take seriously. ANDERLAY (6) showed good signs on debut at Ipswich, only conceding late after leading them up. With natural second-up improvement and under a featherweight, she could prove tough to reel in if left alone in front. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hell Or Heaven to resume a winner. |

Moderate tempo headed by Boondocks. MOONSHINE RUN (3) is knocking on the door of another win after a close third at Doomben in Saturday company. Steps back out to a winning trip and reunites with his regular rider who has built a strong association. LENNOX (2) is the obvious danger, freshened since finishing fifth here over 2400m behind Chillaxing. He eases from Saturday company and returns to a trip at which he won his only attempt. SLIPSAIN (10) needs to rebound after disappointing as favourite at Doomben, but his prior Eagle Farm third had merit after being held up. Mark Du Plessis has a perfect placing record on him. BOONDOCKS (5) is desperate to break through and should have enough early pace to cross from out there and give backers a bold sight. BECAMO (4) brings winning form from Sunshine Coast on soft ground. His splits suggest he will relish the added 200m, though he's yet to strike in two efforts over it. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Moonshine Run. |

Expecting Quickzou to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. QUICKZOU (10) gets the nod second-up after resuming with a close fourth at Doomben when respected near the top of betting. Saluted over this track and trip to get off the mark last prep when leading pillar-to-post. Blinkers go on first time and he gets some weight relief. Bold showing anticipated. BAT OUT OF HELL (1) is the class runner easing in company, with a close Gold Coast trial suggesting he is ready to improve sharply on his Canterbury failure. DUOMO (2) also resumes and should inject some speed. Has trialled well and gets a key booking in Thompson. Have to take seriously. KEEP SAFE (11) resumes from stronger assignments and his comfortable Doomben trial keeps him right in the mix. DYAMI (7) has been highly consistent, with recent placings at Ipswich and Doomben, including finishing ahead of Quickzou at Doomben. The knock is that he has had a few chances now without being able to get the job done. SUGGESTED PLAY: Quickzou to win. |

A strong gallop is likely with Lecan and Farset taking up the running, closely attended by Percolate and Sorrenti. BELLA WAHINE (7) has the strongest class reference, resuming after finishing down the track in the G2 The Roses at Doomben but was good before that in the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet. 1400m looks short of her best but this is a good kick-off point and Osmond's 2kg claim sets up a treat with two trials under her belt. Can make the perfect return. Stablemate MAQUISA (9) only warmed late first-up over 1200m and then had excuses last time at Ipswich, having struck interference and been held up. Fitter and will eat up the added trip. Key switch in Maloney too. LADY WINDERMERE (15) brings sharper recent form after leading pillar-to-post at the Gold Coast. Could look to cross again from out there and lead. CAPITAL CHORD (8) has only been warming late but strips fitter and is drawn to settle closer. Not underestimating.
