NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:20 Race 1 1400m
FUTUR (7) looks the most appealing of the main chances despite plain finishing positions, because her last-start 11th at Niigata was only beaten seven and a half lengths in a 3yo Maiden and this shapes as a more suitable assignment. SWAY BACK (5) was disappointing when sent out favourite at Kasamatsu, but that market respect matters in a race lacking depth, and she has the recent head-to-head edge over Satsuki Jewel. SATSUKI JEWEL (1) draws barrier 1 and is race fit, though her last two margins leave little room for error. REAL STINGER (8) has at least managed a recent fourth here and owns the only career placing among this group, while MEA NANI HIKINA (6) is a place hope if the race becomes a grind rather than a sprint home. Tempo is not obvious, with the key selections mostly midfield or worse, so position before the turn may prove decisive.
2 11:50 Race 2 1400m
LINO LUANA (7) goes on top in a race where the exposed form is modest but his latest Chukyo effort reads best: tenth over 1600m, beaten three and a half lengths, after settling a long way back and still finishing off better than most. VENERABLE (2) is the main threat, helped by barrier 2 and a strong local jockey-trainer profile, though she must improve on being swamped after leading at Chukyo and she was behind Lino Luana there. INDY QUEEN (4) is harder to trust off two heavy defeats, but class relief and a midfield map keep her in the winning conversation if she can find a sharper finish. IBARAHIME (5) and LIBERTA ALA (6) look more like place players; both drop back from longer trips and need to improve on recent margins.
3 12:25 Race 3 1400m
HEENA SCHAUM (7) is the top pick despite a costly fourth as odds-on favourite here last start; the third-up setup, class drop and distance profile give her the clearest rebound case in a race without many convincing last-start winners. RIDGE LINE (3) has the best local substance, coming off a second at Kasamatsu and already boasting a win and a placing from six track-and-trip attempts, so he is the obvious horse to make her earn it. PALUSTRIS (6) resumes from five months off with a mixed Saga profile: a fair third two back, then a plain seventh when fancied, which makes readiness the key. MEISHO MIZUHO (1) appeals for exotics after hitting the line better here last time, while A SHIN NIMBUS (2) needs to hold it together late after being swamped first-up. Fitter for that.
4 12:55 Race 4 1400m
SHIBANO TEN TEN (4) appeals as the runner with the most reliable winning profile, having improved from a closing fourth to a well-supported second here, beaten two lengths after being run down late. GO DANCING (6) is the main on-speed danger, with a close second two back and a perfect place record from three runs at the Kasamatsu 1400m. FESTIVE FREE (7) should press forward and gets his chance to control the race, though he still has to show a sharper turn of foot after being beaten five lengths last start. REAL KAISER (1) maps to be saved up from midfield and is a genuine place player given his repeated track-and-distance placings, while GREAT GENES (10) can run on if the leaders overdo it. The tempo should be honest which gives Shibano Ten Ten the right set-up to finish over them if she repeats her latest effort.
5 01:30 Race 5 1400m
ARISTOCRAT (9) sets the standard after successive Kasamatsu wins, the latest by two lengths over this course and distance after being heavily supported into very short odds-on territory. SEIKA YUHI (8) is the class-drop runner from 3yo Maiden company, and his close Hakodate fourth two back gives him a genuine case, though he still has to overcome a poor win record and the rise to 1400m. PICASSO JASPER (1) brings the most reliable local profile, with three wins and two placings from five starts at this track and distance, and barrier 1 should help her hold a forward spot. AFRICAN BLACK (4) was two lengths behind Aristocrat last time and profiles as the place danger if the tempo is solid. LUCKY TRIGGER (10) needs to rebound from a heavy defeat but has track-and-distance placing form but Aristocrat has the current winning form and proven 1400m record to remain the horse to beat.
6 02:00 Race 6 1400m
ELMY (6) sets the standard after improving sharply at Kasamatsu last start, finishing second to Tureis despite being beaten four lengths as a very short odds-on favourite. That defeat is the query, but third-up and back in this company she still brings the clearest winning profile. SYMPOSION (3) is the immediate danger after a solid third behind Kataphraktos, with his prior Niigata Dirt failure easier to set aside in this line-up. SHIJIMINO HINAKO (2) has to rebound from a heavy defeat, though her earlier Kasamatsu fourth and track-and-distance placings keep her in the mix. FOSSETTES SIENNE (5) comes through an 800m second and needs to prove the rise in trip, while DRAWING (7) is better treated at the weights but must recover from dropping out sharply last time.
7 02:35 Race 7 1400m
KITANO KOSEI (3) sets the standard in a race where few arrive with a clean winning profile. He has placed in both Kasamatsu runs, was respected in betting first-up, and the 1400m looks suitable again, though he will need to close from off the pace. VILLA LOBOS (6) is the obvious danger if she can forgive the last-start failure as odds-on favourite; her second to Reynolds Number two runs back is good enough for this. DAN STONE CHEERS (1) has the inside draw and a rider who has placed on her before, but her recent margins make her a risky winning proposition. SEASON IN THE SUN (4) should be the main speed influence and has recent head-to-head claims after beating Kitano Kosei and Villa Lobos last time. SATSUKI MERMAID (5) will be running on if the tempo allows, but she gives away a star and the race shape looks steady rather than high-pressure.
8 03:10 Race 8 1400m
LOVUSHKA (8) gets the nod in a competitive C5 over 1400m, bringing two recent fourths at Kasamatsu and a reliable track-and-distance profile. He was beaten just over three lengths behind Ric Noir last start after looming without quite finishing it off, which reads well enough for this. MASAHAYA MAUVE (5) is the main danger: his latest Nagoya sixth was below his prior win, but that four-length C8 success showed he can dominate when allowed to roll. NIHONPIRO VESPER (3) comes through a narrow second to Bravo Kirishima and is third-up with strong local 1400m credentials, though the big defeat two back keeps her just behind the top pair. RARIA (6) appeals as a place player after an eye-catching fifth at big odds, while MBURI MUGOBOKA (7) needs to rebound from a plain seventh but has minor-money claims on her prior third.
9 03:40 Race 9 1900m
KATSUTENAI OISHISA (4) sets the benchmark on winning habit, with nine wins and one place from ten starts overall and two wins from two at 1900m. He is new to Kasamatsu, but the distance record and recent Kochi wins give him the strongest profile. MICHAEL (9) is the immediate threat after leading throughout for a five-length first-up win here, though this trip is the new test. YOSARI (5) resumes with an excellent Kasamatsu record and should be handy enough from the on-pace group, while GOKOKUHOJO (8) has the closing style to be dangerous if the leaders overdo it. TSUMAMIGUI (1) is in form after a four-length win here, but also has to prove himself at 1900m.
10 04:20 Race 10 1580m
A SHIN AZALEA (5) looks the one to beat after stringing together a win and two placings this campaign, most recently second here when beaten a length and a half as a short odds-on favourite. She should be prominent in a race that lacks obvious pressure among the main chances. CARTHUSIAN (4) is the danger on her best work, with a strong track-and-distance profile and a recent Kasamatsu result over A Shin Azalea, though she must rebound from a plain favourite defeat. NEVERLANDREAM (2) has to turn around a heavy last-start loss, but her prior second and repeated placings at this course and distance keep her in the mix. SABUNO FUKUMUSUME (6) needs improvement off recent 1400m runs, yet the return to a winning track-and-trip suits. SUSANNA (7) is honest enough for minor money, especially if those behind the speed get their chance but A Shin Azalea is the one that gets the nod for consistency and race position.
11 04:50 Race 11 1400m
SUSSAN FIRST (8) looks the horse to beat despite only battling into sixth behind Miraculum here two weeks ago. His broader Kasamatsu 1400m record is sound, he has won three times at the track and distance, and this looks a suitable C3 assignment if he can hold a midfield spot from the draw. DAT DERE (1) comes through the same race in better recent form, finishing third and beating Sussan First home, with barrier one giving him the chance to race handy again. WORNITZ (3) resumes after three months and is the likely leader, but he folded badly when last seen after being prominent in betting, so he is more a danger than a clear top pick. MARGOT CARA (6) also resumes and has a class-drop angle, though her last two runs were plain. WIN ALICE (7) brings the strongest track-and-distance strike rate and is better back to 1400m, but recent 1580m runs leave her needing to sharpen up.
