With little in the way of early speed Durness may well find the front. JUNOSTAR (6) recorded a strong maiden win over a similar trip at Grafton last time, getting there with a fair bit up her sleeve. Looks well placed and she can make it two on the bounce. DURNESS (3) broke her maiden in fine style last start at Toowoomba. Brandon Lerena was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the mount. One of the likely contenders despite the step up in grade. AMELIORATION (5) did well to score two runs ago then turned in a nice run last time out when sixth over 1800m at Gold Coast, beaten 2.25 lengths. Should be thereabouts. MOANA NUI (2) drove hard to get off the mark at the Gold Coast last time over a similar trip. Backs up quickly and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Junostar to win. |

Tramca will stride forward but there are few debutants who can keep him busy. PIERANTES (11) is a first-starter by Pierata from the former top race mare Funtantes who has been a fine producer including G1 winner Startantes and a handful of other handy gallopers. Trialled well at Doomben in readiness and gets the blinkers on. Promising type who can make an immediate impact. BOOTS (6) is a locally trained maiden galloper resuming. Went amiss on debut when heavily supported before heading straight back to the paddock. Has trialled well here in readiness and gets the key booking of Thompson. Bold showing anticipated. NINJA POWER (5) is another debutant that could sneak a spot in the minors. BETTY'S BOY (1) is also in the mix on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pierantes to win. |

Super Daisy and King Of The Jungle can lead the small field. BONDED AFFAIR (3) comes through stronger racing. Has a good record at this course and distance and gets the key booking of Thompson who knows her well. Perfectly placed and is sure to take a ton of beating. CHALICE WELL (5) tackled a handy CL6 contest when resuming at Doomben last month and while she didn't threaten, she held her own. Strips fitter and is 1/1 over the track and trip. The inside pillar will see her get every chance. CUSTO (8) showed little early speed then came with a powerful run to finish third last time at Ipswich. Could land in a sticky spot from the low draw but if the gaps appear he can cause a scare. FLYWHEEL (1) returns from a long break and sports new colours. Has the peaks to be right there at the business end but he may need the hitout. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bonded Affair to win. |

Genuine tempo from Moissanite leading Holy Flash. WRIGLEY FIELD (3) has been good without winning in town at his last three. Will appreciate a drop in grade and keeps Maloney. Bold showing anticipated. BOONDOCKS (1) is poised to win after placing at his last three outings and the form around him is stacking up strongly. Drawn sticky under the big weight but is still a genuine threat. BECAMO (8) has been hitting the line well over shorter trips and no rises sharply on the quick back-up. Is a two-time winner over this distance and has won here before. Deserves genuine consideration. HOLY FLASH (6) has been knocking on the door for a long time now and finds another suitable contest. Hot-hand hoop Williams taking over is a bonus. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wrigley Field gets the nod. |

Tuned up with three trials and goes well when fresh. Maloney reunites and is 1/1 aboard. Bright return anticipated. COL BURN (7) made the perfect return here last month when getting the bob in a tit-for-tat battle to the line. Lightly raced and has plenty more to offer. Thompson sticking another push. RAZORS (4) made an encouraging impression first-up but knocked up quickly last time. Drops back in trip off a freshened but has been kept up to the mark with a trial win. Can improve sharply. CUTEPI (12) has been better in her last two. Could go either way for her from the inside but she's capable of giving this a shake on her best form. SUGGESTED PLAY: Influential to return a winner. |

Has trialled well in readiness and gets a key booking in Maloney. Bright start anticipated. PREETHICAL (13) is a first starter by Graff from Unswerving who has thrown plenty of winners to date, including a couple handy ones. Coming along well at the trials and should be about the mark. WRITTEN REALITY (17) was okay first-up when chasing gamely into the placings. Strips fitter and is drawn cosy. Can play a role. SPIRIT OF TORQUE (16) returns. Showed promising signs in her debut prep, closing it off with two efforts at Listed level. Gets a key booking in Thompson and deserves obvious respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Storming Home to make a winning start in the new colours. |

SHAPE OF WATER (3) improved last time out, finishing a head from the winner at the Gold Coast. Hitting his straps now and is drawn to advantage on the inside. Forward showing anticipated. FAMILY OF LEAGUE (6) was better second-up and should be further improved and gets in well with the claim again. Should give a sight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Old Faithful can win again. |

A strong tempo is assured with Kowloon Magnate and Brass Band leading the charge. KOWLOON MAGNATE (8) found the line nicely to grab third last time out over the mile at Taree. Has been knocking on the door throughout this prep and gets a good chance to finally get the job done. BRASS BAND (5) is desperate to break through soon after a string of minor placings. Doesn't have to improve much to finally break through this time. MISSILE AWAY (10) was better here last time when in the market, only beaten 2.2L back in sixth. Drops back in trip off 26 days and has peaks that measure up. BOBBY'S MY MATE (4) got too far back last start at the Gold Coast but made good late inroads. Peaking now and can play a role in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kowloon Magnate to win. |
