NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:44 Ladbrokes Switch Benchmark 66 Hcp 2100m
Only a small field with Tideford likely to find a comfortable lead. DON'T GIVE UP (1) is racing well and comes back a notch for this after finishing runner-up in a BM72 latest. Aided by the claim and should be winding up strongly. MERLIN BEACH (3) recorded an overdue win last time after a string of minors. Placed both tries this trip and is certain to be hard to beat again. TIDEFORD (5) was safely held in the same race as Don't Give Up in an effort well off best. Back a notch and expected to be in this for a long way. HAPPY CLAN (2) has had a string of placings and was third in the same race as Don't Give Up. Genuine performer who can break through. AL MAXIMUS (4) last start finished fourth over 1880m at Devonport Synthetic, beaten 2.25 lengths. Possible improver.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Don't Give Up.
2 12:25 Winning Edge Presentation Maiden 1200m
From the inside draw Authorised Access can boot up and control the tempo in a low-pressure contest. Huge field and plenty of win chances in an even contest. GOLD ARMOUR (5) was a close-up fourth two back then finished fifth here last time but beaten only half a length in a busy finish. Has upside and looks tough to stop. CHEF'S KISS (2) is a former NSW galloper having his first run for the new yard but comes fit and with figures good enough to test this line-up. Huge watch on the betting. GEEGEES AVALANCHE (4) was beaten 6 lengths when sixth in a 1200m contest at this track two-and-a-half weeks ago. Finally draws a gate and can run well. SIR WILLIAM (7) ran below expectations last time at Devonport Synthetic, finishing sixth. Finds a nice race and can make amends. ROLAND VIEW (10) will come on from the debut run.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Gold Armour.
3 01:00 National Jockey Celebration Day Benchmark 68 Hcp 1390m
A solid tempo anticipated with Flying Billie and Tassie Power ahead of Sky Land and Kakia. FIGHTING FLOYD (1) is a veteran galloper who continues to race well. Winner this grade two back then finished only two lengths away latest. Has a great record over this course and distance and could be over the odds. JUST A NEEDS (3) was beaten 2.5 lengths in open class last time. The start prior ran on hard to score this grade. Right in the mix on recent form. KAKIA (4) is fitter for two runs back, finishing fourth at each. FLYING BILLIE (2) wasn't far away last time after racing on speed, finishing sixth as favourite. Freshened and expected to take catching. SKY LAND (6) is racing well and will give a sight with the light weight.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Fighting Floyd could be value.
4 01:35 National Jockeys Trust Class 2 Hcp 1390m
Strong early tempo with Coastal Strike and Ozturk leading the way. NANDI CLAN (4) raced on the speed from the outset last start and finished third, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 1410m at this track. Ready to win and looks hard to beat. SH'BOURNE POWER (1) saluted when resuming last start at this track over 1410m after he was in the firing line on the turn. Has found the frame in all three starts at this journey, including two wins. Has a formidable combination with Kirra-Lee Lane who has been aboard for his last two wins. Has winning claims on best figures. MEGALITA (2) produced a reasonable effort when second last start over 1350m at Devonport Synthetic. That followed a win at Devonport Synthetic the start prior. One of the main hopes. ROYAL DETECTIVE (7) is fitter and can do better.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Megalita.
5 02:10 Kevin Sharkie Open Hcp 1200m
Small field but expecting a genuine tempo with plenty of pace engaged. You wouldn't rule any out but IN THE OCEAN (3) will be hard to beat again. Easy winner this course and distance and grade last time and beat a few of these. Up 1.5kg but had too much on them last time and will go close again. ALVARINHO (2) is fitter for two runs back, the latest finished fourth over a little further. Has a strong record this course and distance including a G3 placing four back. Strong third-up record and can improve sharply. NICCO THE GREEK (6) has been freshened since racing well below best over further last time. Has started eight times this course and distance for two wins and six minors and gets a chance to atone. DAYTONA DIVA (4) was a winner fresh then placed last time over further. Unbeaten this course and distance and expected to run well. FURNEAUX (5) continues to race well and will give a sight with the light weight.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with In The Ocean.
6 02:45 Olive Tree Catering Benchmark 68 Hcp 1000m
Alpine Thunder to take charge ahead of Geegees Missile at a solid tempo. ALPINE THUNDER (1) led and faded fresh over 1200m in similar grade, finishing sixth. Fitter and back to the sharper trip. Has the claim and will take catching. BILLIE THE GREAT (5) was a fresh-up winner then has placed in the three runs since. Long overdue and gets her chance to break through. EASTCOAST MISS (4) ran on well to place fresh then finished alongside Alpine Thunder last time. Key chance who should prove hard to beat. GEEGEES MISSILE (2) resumed in the same race and faded to finish well back. That was off a long break and has a decent second-up record. Has upside and yet to miss the frame this course and distance. NO ACCESS (8) has a light weight and will be winding up late.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Alpine Thunder.
7 03:20 Kevin Sharkie Maiden/Class 1 1600m
A solid tempo is on the cards with Savage River and Da Silver Flash pushing for the lead ahead of Don Turboas and All Intrique. FRENCH SOUL (2) looks close to a win and ready for the mile again. Had one start at the trip at the end of first campaign and may well have gone over the top. Has been knocking on the door in two runs this time in and looks ready for the extra ground now. DON TURBOAS (1) was a maiden winner two back then ran on hard and just missed at this trip last time. Looks the one they have to beat. THEM'S THE BREAKS (11) has a wide draw but is ready to win and will take some beating. THE LITTLE BAY (7) is better than the last run when sixth over 1600m at this track. Can improve sharply. GOLD TIANNA (4) lightly raced gelding who progressed nicely last start with a win by a nose over 1380m at this track. Has the big claim and can go on with it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: French Soul looks ready.
8 03:55 Ladbrokes Hosted Pots Benchmark 60 Hcp 1600m
Expecting Purr Sefanee to take up the running with Henley Extreme and Johnnie Pinch close at hand. THISISMYTURF (5) is well seasoned but surprisingly had first try at the mile last time, and after going back from a wide gate flashed home to place. This is slightly easier and looks hard to hold out with a repeat. REGAL HUNTER (4) has been in the placings his past two starts, finishing second over 1650m at Devonport Synthetic last time out. Will find this tougher but is capable of featuring. JOHNNIE PINCH (2) took up the running last time and turned in front but faded to finish fourth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over this journey at this track. Well placed and expected to feature. SIR JAG (3) is in great form, the latest running on well to finish runner-up here over the mile. Drawn to feature with the top hoop aboard.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Thisismyturf.
9 04:30 Aviso TAS Insurance Brokers Class 2 Hcp 1200m
Cracking tempo with Zulu Fields and Outbush leading the way. Big field and wide open. SOUTHERN AURORAS (3) raced on pace fresh in a Class 1 and proved too smart. That was off a long break and can only be fitter. Definitely worth following up. HUBUBBAJAHN (11) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 26 starts. Tried to lead throughout but she found one better over 1150m at Devonport Synthetic. Placed to advantage so expect a big run. TRIBAL COUNCIL (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths into fourth. Has been thereabouts without winning but on his best form he is one of the key runners. BENEFITSOFMINE (1) turned in a fine effort to score by a neck at this track and distance last start in a much improved run. That was his first run in this area for the new yard and can only be improved. ALPINE RUBY (5) was in the minor money last timed should run well again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Southern Auroras.
