BECOME A BRC MEMBER Maiden Plate 1650m
They should run this along with Highland Kitty and Kalamia King taking it up over Steady On. HIGHLAND KITTY (6) is unlucky to still be a maiden finishing runner-up at her past four outings and strikes a very winnable contest here. Strips fitter second-up from the spell and gets in well at the weights with the claim. Plenty to like about her prospects. STEADY ON (3) will be rock-hard fit for this contest and gets the services of leading hoop Thompson in the irons. Looms as the main danger. KALAMIA KING (1) has hit the top-five in ten of his past 11 starts and looks to be working up to a maiden victory. Include in calculations. URBAN PRINCESS (7) placed over this distance range last time out and is one for the exotics players. WILD BEAN (4) next best in a race with only a handful of chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Highland Kitty to shed the maiden tag. |

MEKKA RACEDAY 22 AUGUST QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1350m
No surprise if the debutants played a key role in the tempo of the race with little speed on paper. Tricky assignment to assess with a few of these facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade, RAGING RAIDER (8) returned in good order with a close-up third at the Sunny Coast before maybe suffering from the dreaded second-up syndrome at Eagle Farm at the latest effort. Will be ready to peak now third run back and looks the one they all have to run down. GRIEVE ROAD (3) has been well in the betting in both career outings to date and where there's smoke there's fire. Watch for sharp improvement. DRAGON MAGIC (2) is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and rates a genuine top-three contender against this line-up. TED LASSO (6) just missed the frame on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience. In the mix. WEONA SATONO (9) is a first starter but hails from an astute stable and should be kept very safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Raging Raider. |

THE GIBSON Maiden Handicap 1350m
Solid tempo with Kuia Ma leading from Isla Delilah and Had It All. MOSCOW MULE (1) has been right there in both career starts to date including placing over this track and trip last time out. Looks to be working up to a maiden victory and must be respected out of the Dunn barn. Capable of taking this out. HAD IT ALL (4) has placed three from three around this circuit and gets some weight relief with the 1.5kg claim. Can play a major role in the outcome. KUIA MA (2) has finished runner-up at the past couple of efforts, draws favourably in gate two and gets 3kg off. Ticks a few boxes for a race like this. LOTTERY LINK (7) gets Rodd back on board from the inside alley and may earn some minor money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 1,4,2,7. |

SKY RACING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1650m
Strong tempo assured from Flying Bat and Carnegie Hill leading the charge. WOUNDER (8) has been plying her trade in harder NSW contests and should find this assignment much more to her liking. Hails from the champion Waller yard and is sure to be right there when the whips are cracking. FLYING BAT (1) has hit a purple patch with two wins and a placing from his past three starts and is racing high on confidence of late. Gets 3kg weight relief with the claim and should play a role in the finish again. GAGNANTE ENCHERE (6) has a handy record around this circuit with a win and two placings from just four spins. In the mix. The well-related CARNEGIE HILL (2) (full to G3 winner Jimmy Recard) saves his best form for this distance range and must be included in calculations. ROSSO LEVANTO (3) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Wounder. |

COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY 15 AUGUST Class 3 Handicap 2060m
Cast Party to take charge ahead of O'caldino at a good tempo. DIAMOND SHOW (2) has been knocking on the door of another victory with three consecutive runner-up finishes and this is not an overly strong affair. Gets 3kg off from the inside marble and should be right there at the business end. SARAH'S SONNETS (8) is a very consistent conveyance who has only missed a drum once in seven career outings. Sure to run her usual honest race and worth including. O'CALDINO (12) has placed over this staying journey. Gets in well at the weights and looks one for the exotics players. CAST PARTY (7) broke the maiden five back and has been racing well of late. Last start was beaten 1.4 lengths when third over 1800m at Eagle Farm. Key runner. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Quinella 2,8,12. |

DRINKWISE Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap 1200m
Looks to be plenty of pace with La Profecia and Teelg battling for the lead. SWIFT DUKE (6) has a solid record over this distance range with a win and a second from three attempts and will be cherry-ripe now third run back from the spell. Rider Peisley sticks in the saddle following that last-start placing and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. CITY GOLD FIELD (4) broke the maiden status at the Sunny Coast when resuming and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Can go right on with the job now. LA PROFECIA (8) is a winner over this trip, draws the inside marble and gets the reliable Gollan/Lang combination. Ticks a few boxes for a race like this. ZALIQUE (9) returned in fine fashion with a strong Grafton win and has to be included in calculations. TEELG (2) next in line. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 6,4,8,9. |

XXXX GOLD Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap 1200m
Mandriana has good gate speed and can overcome the wide alley to lead. Looks a wide-open contest. STEIN (11) grows a leg for hoop Fenlon who has a win and two placings from just three steers and will be rock-hard fit for this fourth-up from the spell. Looks well placed against this line-up. STRADA VARENNA (1) is having the first run for the Gollan yard but brings solid Sydney formlines to the table and gets some weight relief with the 3kg claim. In the mix. VANESSI (4) has placed two of four over this distance range and is drawn to get a cosy run in transit from the inside alley. Can run a race while fresh. DON'T DOUBT MISSY (6) returns from a lay-off. Ran fourth in most recent trial at Doomben. Opened last campaign with a fourth at this track over 1110m. Keep safe fresh. SHE OURS (3) doesn't win out of turn but is usually thereabouts and may earn some minor money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 1,11,4. |

LADBROKES ODDS SURGE Class 3 Handicap 1350m
Detrimental to take up the running with Too Hot To Torque and Possibilities close at hand. SHELSTEIN (4) was well supported when resuming at Eagle Farm but didn't measure up on that occasion. Will have come on with that run now under the belt and has placed three of four over this distance range. Respect out of the Archibald camp. LAND BANK (8) strips fitter second-up from the break and winning rider Thompson reunites in the saddle. Include from the low draw. ARTFUL PERSUASION (6) is improving with racing this preparation and gets some weight relief with the 1.5kg claim. Top-three aspirations. The well-related WARNA (7) (half to G2 winner Count De Rupee) saves his best form for this trip and will be rock-hard fit for this contest. In the mix. FLAXLANDS (13) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: With Shelstein. |
