Gawler Arms Hotel Maiden Plate 2100m
Miss Trombari and Captain Love to bowl along in front. BLABBER MOUTH (8) only got going late when resuming at Murray Bridge and made good inroads. Should relish stepping out to this trip and the Milnes' booking signals intent. Bold showing anticipated. CAPTAIN LOVE (1) turned in a decent effort last start to finish third over 2200m at Balaklava after being prominent at the turn. Has been knocking on the door for a while and finds a nice race to finally get off the mark. Similarly, LILLIKINS (6) is threatening. Was good again last time when finishing a length away from the winner at Penola. No tougher this time and draws well. Gets her chance. THE PUNK ROCKER (3) also finds it hard to get off the mark but it has produced some efforts that can measure up here. Backs up quickly from his fourth at Balaklava and is in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Blabber Mouth. |

North West Star should find the front with Sir Castleton and Love To Lie on her heels. ELITE THUNDER (1) gave away a considerable start over 1400m at Murray Bridge last time before hitting the line well to finish fourth. Peak fitness now and is perfectly placed to shed his maiden tag. SIR CASTLETON (6) is building nicely. Showed good tactical speed again last time and held on well for second. Strips fitter and gets key switches with Holder taking over from a low draw. LOVE TO LIE (10) is knocking on the door and gets in light again with the 2kg claimer staying aboard. Just needs some luck from the wide alley. LUNAR VISTA (3) has been thereabouts of late and should be at his top now. SUGGESTED PLAY: Elite Thunder to win. |

Expecting a solid pace with See Ya Later Baby, River Clyde and Eugenius leading the charge. BIG MAV (6) wasn't that far away in seventh last time, a solid follow up from his narrow defeat at Strathalbyn. Boasts good peaks and drops back to a winning trip. Leading player. LELIYN (2) drove hard to arrive just in time and shed his maiden tag over this trip at Balaklava at the latest. Can keep the ball rolling now. SEE YA LATER BABY (4) was DQ'd after proceedings due to an administration mishap but for what it's worth he was first past the post. Continues to be well supported and much of the same is anticipated here. SUNDOGG (8) looks close to a win, finishing in the placings at his last couple of runs. Draws well and only needs to hold his form to be right there again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Slight lean to Big Mav. |

Emotive and Trade Game can be prominent. WOODSTOCK (6) was a strong winner at Clare when firm in the market but the win was later taken off him for the claimer not carrying the right weight. Can officially get the job done this time. TRADE GAME (5) chased gamely into third on debut on Oakbank Cup Day last month. Keeps Toeroek and is drawn perfectly. Expect him to be right there when they sprint. ALIANDRA (9) is an El Roca filly on debut for the Bain & Taylor partnership. Has come along nicely at the trials and can make a bright start. MYSTRIX (11) was denied narrowly fresh at Balaklava and is sure to have come on with that run under her belt, though she will need some luck from the sticky draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Woodstock to win. |

Moderate tempo with Darlinc leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. LISELLE'S LUCK (8) is overdue for a win, finding the minor money in all three runs back this prep. Has good early speed and only needs to hold her form to be saluting this time. SOUTHERN MONARCH (6) wasted no time getting off the mark on debut over 1100m at Clare three weeks ago. Will come on following that run and looks a definite threat. NADEGE (3) scored two back at Balaklava but was below her best last time. Finds a nice race and can make amends. FIABESCA (9) couldn't meet market expectation first-up at Balaklava but was far from disgraced. Didn't fire a shot last time but is open to sharp improvement third-up with the blinkers applied first time. Not dismissing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Liselle's Luck to win. |

Expecting Sir Panama to take up the running with Scandalist and Born To Shine close at hand. MORLAIX (10) doesn't win out of turn but rarely turns in a poor one. Gets the key booking of Milnes from the gun draw. Bold showing anticipated. SIR PANAMA (1) has been in the money at his last couple of runs, the latest when second over 1600m at Port Augusta. Has the speed to be prominent. Expected to be in the finish. ALL SHOT (5) is going better than his form reads and possesses a strong turn of foot on his day. Watch for him rounding them up if they run along in front. CAUSEWELUVADELAIDE (6) scored two runs back then was well supported last time but clearly went amiss after she was prominent at the bend. Can forgive. SUGGESTED PLAY: Morlaix gets the nod. |

Good pressure from the outset with Stokomo, Mrs Secombe and Flashing Steel taking up the running over Joviale and Wine Barron. MRS SECOMBE (9) has been solid since resuming and should be ready to put it all together now fourth-up. Has the wide alley to overcome but gets a key switch with Toeroek taking over. FLASHING STEEL (3) has been too bad to be true in his last time but his earlier form reads very well for this. You'd have to be forgiving to give him another go but he does boast strong peaks and is a five-time winner over this trip. BRAVE STAR (2) has steadily built into this campaign but should be near his peak and is drawn a dream for Opperman. Bold showing anticipated. STOKOMO (1) went forward and proved too strong last time out, scoring by a head over 1400m at Balaklava. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Slight lean to Mrs Secombe. |
