NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:19 JIM & VAL BROWNING COUNTRY BOOSTED MDN HCP 1400m
Lagavulin to take up the running at a moderate tempo. DANCING TILDA (1) turned in a nice effort when he worked home well beaten just 0.6 lengths over 1310m at Ballina. Raced a $3 favourite and will be fitter again. Has the inside gate and keeps a handy 2kg claim. GAELIC REWARD (2) had trialled well here and found a place over 1280m at Port Macquarie on debut. Was plainer at Taree following, but has the blinkers applied today for the first time. She can get back on track. MS HUBBLE (7) is a former Victorian having her third start for the Owen yard. Jumped $3.5 at Taree last time against the above, beaten by less than 2L. She has more to give and has to be considered. WHATSTHETIMEMRWOLF (10) didn't have the best of it in the same contest, but his near miss at Grafton prior stacks right up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Dancing Tilda to win.
2 12:54 JERRY ZUVELA MAIDEN PLATE 800m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a genuine tempo. All of the raced division drop back to a short sprint. WON FOR VICKI (10) debuts a long way from home. She was close up in a recent 780m trial at Kembla Grange and, notably, JVO sticks from that. Has a low gate and finds a winnable assignment. SWEET MARLENE (8) has placed over 1000m in both starts this preparation and has more to offer. Will likely push forward and has winning claims. SUNVOLT (6) found a place here and then spiked his numbers beaten a head over 1400m at Grafton. Has the outside gate back pley in distance, but has been freshened up and is sure to finish hard. COMME CI COMME CA (1) is fast and was good at Port Macquarie first-up before folding up at Grafton over 1000m. Presents fitter and can give a better sight.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Won For Vicki if the money comes.
3 01:29 TED RUSSELL MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
Not expecting them to go too hard with a lack of pace evident. BE MORE PACIFIC (2) was beaten just a head last start at Ballina over 1310m. Has switched yards and will be better for it. Looks close to a win and gets his chance in this suitable contest. Gets his chance in this suitable contest. BURNT FINGERS (7) is Kembla Grange-trained and resumes with JVO in the saddle. Maps well and placed in a recent Kembla trial. No surprise to see her race boldly. BONJOUR BILL (4) resumed at Taree over 1000m, beaten 3 lengths. He has more to give with the extra fitness over the longer sprint and keeps the handy 2kg claim. MISS BUGATTI (10) had switched from a Sydney yard and needed the first-up outing over 1000m at Taree. Has a low gate and has shown enough to say she's a hope with the 4kg claim.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Be More Pacific appeals most.
4 02:04 DOUG MCLEOD COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 2 HCP 1400m
Genuine tempo from Whiskers leading Patrioticintention. DUBALENE (5) won a 58 first up and has threatened the two since over shorter sprints. Has been finishing off her races in good style, and the longer sprint should be right up her alley. PATRIOTICINTENTION (3) led them up and missed 1.6L by 1408m at Grafton. That followed a CL1 win at Port Macquarie. Has a low gate and a 3kg claim and can bounce back. PRINCE OF PROPHETS (1) settled a mile back in the same contest and caught the eye flashing home to be beaten just 1.8L. Had won a CL1 here by 6L prior on a heavy track, and he will be right in it with average luck. WHISKERS (6) led and bounced straight back into the winners' stall in a 58 at Taree over this distance. Stays down in the weights and is sure to give a bold sight.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Dubalene.
5 02:39 LEST WE FORGET CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600m
In the small field Beearetee or Highwire Girl should find the front. CRATHIE KIRK (10) went close first-up, heavily bet, and the money came again at Newcastle, following where she was beaten a head over 1500m. She is still shy of her best number and back in country grade she rates to have them covered. CERTIFY (5) won a Gold Coast Maiden over 1700m first-up as a $2.2F. Proven second-up, and he also has plenty of scope for improvement. With average luck from the awkward gate, he should be right in it. HIGHWIRE GIRL (11) led into the straight beaten 1.75 lengths over 1420m at Grafton, second-up. She will be fitter and led beaten a whisker there over 1600m before the spell. Fitter again and JVO will give her every chance. DIVINE EFFORT (2) raced forward and won her Maiden in good style over 1700m at Grafton. She will use the inside gate and keeps the handy 2kg claim. This is a step up, but she has a future.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Crathie Kirk to win.
6 03:14 BRUCE HOPKINS CLASS 1 HCP 1200m
Fall For Autumn, Odin's Mount and Rentessis can set a strong tempo. RENTESSIS (1) resumes off heavily bet placings in Victoria. Just missed at Bendigo fresh two back and won his Maiden at Wangaratta prior by 3L on debut. Has a low gate and a handy 2kg claim, and the blinkers are applied for the first time. Rates tough to beat in this grade. ODIN'S MOUNT (7) went forward and gave a sight placing over 1400m at Gold Coast. Led and won a Ballina Maiden by 7.5L before that, on the heavy. Has to push forward from an awkward gate but is well placed with the 3kg claim. NEWY (2) led and was an easy Maiden winner at Beaumont-Newcastle first-up and followed with an even on-pace run in stronger than this at Gosford. He has a cruel barrier but gets JVO and can get into the finish with average luck. FALL FOR AUTUMN (8) will be around the mark, going on his Port Macquarie placing two back.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rentessis to win.
7 03:49 KEVIN BELLAMY BM 82 HCP 1300m
In a race without an obvious leader, either Prancing With Fire or Beauer can roll them along. VIA VEGAS (4) seeks the hat-trick off comfortable wins at Port Macquarie. Has been heavily bet, and the longer sprint is within his scope. Draws low and will be sitting right on the pace off a brief freshen. Can go on with the job. BABY RYAN (2) just missed here over 1400m in a country Championships Qualifier and then raced in the final at Randwick last time and didn't feature at big odds. This suits him much better, and he will go close with average luck from the awkward gate. PRANCING WITH FIRE (3) resumed further improved, beaten a nose in an 82 at Grafton over shorter. Suited stepping up in trip and is proven second-up. Maps for the run of the race and has claims. SUPREME COMMAND (1) won an 82 here over a mile and hasn't been too far away in tougher races since. Has a 2kg claim and can't be ruled out switching back to a sprint.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Via Vegas.
8 04:29 JACK SIMMON BM 58 HCP 1000m
Expecting Boom Break to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. HEY DAISY (2) just missed at Eagle Farm in a CL3 on slow and then raced a $2.7F in a CL2 at the Sunshine Coast and didn't manage the heavy track. Peaks and has been freshened up. She's well-placed to win a country 58. BOOM BREAK (1) has been kept fresh and led and placed at the Gold Coast last time. Has a handy 3kg claim and should be in the finish. ZEDARI (3) led at Taree first-up and found one better in a CL2. The 2kg claim takes care of most of the weight rise and with the extra fitness has claims. HAYLEY'S ROCKET (9) resumes and has trialled well at Ballina. He didn't miss by too far at Grafton on debut and missed a whisker there when last seen. Has to be kept well onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hey Daisy to win.
