NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:29 POCO VINO QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap 800m
Many of these youngsters step out for the first time so a strong pace is anticipated. SWEET REBELLION (3) raced handy but was no match for the tearaway winner Cherry Bomshell on debut last start over 1000m at Eagle Farm, finishing third. Coming back in trip looks a positive move. Won't find one as good this time and is going to be hard to catch. SUN SISTER (2) worked hard to find the lead then had nothing left in the run home on debut last time out over 1110m at Doomben. Facing a much easier assignment today and the 800m trip should suit. Can improve sharply. MISHANI ROZAY (6) contested the same race as Sun Sister when she was facing the starter for the first time recently. Never in contention that day but can make amends in this easier assignment. TOSCANELLA (4) is a Michael Nolan-trained filly on debut. Won her only public trial so is likely to be popular with punters. ZANDARI (5) from the Stuart Kendrick stable is another debutante who won her only trial. Keep an eye on the betting.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sweet Rebellion.
2 02:04 TAB BM68 Handicap 800m
Campai and Zoe Shark will likely pair off in front.  VIALE (7) led all the way for an effortless win over 1100m at Gatton two back before struggling in a good race in town last start. Speedy mare who should enjoy this sharp journey and looks nicely placed to bounce back to form. STATE IN TEXAS (3) sat just off the speed then showed a nice change of gears to get home when resuming in a BM65 over this course and distance last time out. The winner of two from three when second-up and four from eight at this specialist trip. Has the right credentials. CAMPAI (1) last raced five weeks ago when she let down in good style to get up for second in a BM70 here at this distance. Three-time winner over the Ipswich 800m. Goes best for Courtney Bellamy who regains the mount. Genuine contender. BEAUTY BOUND (6) has transferred from Phillip Stokes to Declan Maher and brings solid SA form to the table. In the mix fresh from an eight-week let-up. ZOE SHARK (5) goes like the wind and from a perfect draw will be hard to catch.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Viale and State In Texas.
3 02:39 BARRIER REEF POOLS OPEN Handicap 1100m
Goldsborough and Krakarib are both expected to press forward and take it up.  BRERETON (2) wasn't far behind Spywire first-up in a Magic Millions race over this distance. Found 1000m at Eagle Farm a bit sharp last start in a run worth overlooking. Very fit now and from a great draw gets his chance to break a long win drought. EMPEROR (3) ground out a tough win when resuming over 1000m at Eagle Farm 16 days ago. This is a shade harder but he drops 4kgs after the claim and from the good gate will enjoy a perfect run. Definitely up to the task. KRAKARIB (5) led for the judge and gave a sight but found one better in the dying stages at his latest appearance over 1200m at this track. Has raced twice over 1100m here for two wins. Key runner with just 52kgs after the allowance. LAYDOWNLILY (8) is fitter for two runs back from a spell and has won at both visits to Ipswich. Sure to give a good account. GOLDSBOROUGH (1) closed off well when resuming over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast recently. Veteran sprinter with a strong record at this trip so must be considered.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Brereton to win a competitive sprint.
4 03:14 GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Handicap 1200m
Strong tempo from Rockabilly, Poised Tycoon and Shaque D'amour. DELICIOUS DEREK (6) has been brought to Queensland by Waller after two appearances in Sydney this prep. The pick of the runs was first-up over 1250m at Canterbury where he made ground to get up for second. Blinkers go on and this is a big class drop - the outside gate is the only negative. SHAQUE D'AMOUR (22) has been in the money five times from 14 runs with all of the placings coming at Ipswich. Ran a cheeky race at mammoth odds last time out at Doomben. Draws the fence and is sure to be prominent for a long way. VILLANDRY (19) returned with a real eye-catcher recently over 1050m at Rockhampton, coming from last at one stage to be beaten in a three-way go. Major player over the extra trip with added fitness. ICYMISS (12) has been just behind the placegetters at both runs to date. Nicely drawn and with improvement to come is one of the key runners. ROCKABILLY (5) is back from a five-month spell. Placed two from two in the maiden prep and has trialled well leading into this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Delicious Derek.
5 03:54 SEVEN NEWS BM58 Handicap 2180m
Quick Shot should be able to comfortably find the front.  PIERONIMO (5) tackled a similar race to this at the Sunshine Coast 19 days ago and did well to hold on for a close third after racing up on the pace throughout. Three winners have come from that race so the form should stack up. At his best when he gets to this trip and a second career win is on the cards. MAURITA (12) appreciated the step up in distance last time out, recording a dogged win over 1990m at this track. Has been out to today's distance twice and filled a minor placing on both occasions. Serious threat. VERMEER (2) was in the money for the fourth time in five runs when runner-up over this distance at Grafton recently. Has only won two races, but both came here at today's journey. Well placed to grab an overdue victory. WHATJEUDOIN' (6) missed the frame for the first time in a while when midfield at Doomben last start. In a more suitable race today and can return to form. FLYING ROTHE (11) has found form, albeit on the Gold Coast poly. In the mix if it converts to turf.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pieronimo to win.
6 04:34 GORDON'S GIN Class 4 Handicap 1350m
Genuine tempo from Run Lucy Run leading Bring Me Saki.  DON'TCHA THINK (9) lumped 60kgs when easily accounted for over 1400m at Eagle Farm last start. Strips fitter after two runs back and has been in the money at three of four third up runs. Makes plenty of appeal dropping a massive 6kgs for this assignment. RUN LUCY RUN (5) led all the way and gave nothing else a chance when second-up last time out over this course and distance. Should at least hold that performance level at this early stage of the prep. Just needs luck from a wide alley to play a major role. NIGHTCAPPED (6) registered a dominant all-the-way win over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast last Friday, albeit on a heavy surface. Should feature again with the help of an ideal gate. TREPORTI (1) hasn't won for around 14 months but did run a cheeky race over 1400m at Eagle Farm recently in a Class 4. Worth some thought in this slightly easier race. NOBLE DECREE (2) has started at under $3.00 at all three runs this prep but is yet to salute. Distance specialist who must be respected.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Don'tcha Think.
7 05:19 RACIING AND SPORTS Class 1 Handicap 1200m
Chiba, Gozo and Divine Source to match motors but there will be other pressure.  DIVINE SOURCE (9) did some work from a wide gate to lead last start and the early effort told when she tired late to finish fourth over this distance at Beaudesert. Draws closer today and will be cherry ripe at the third run back. Likes racing here so plenty to like about her prospects. CHIBA (2) struggled to get involved when fresh from a nine-month spell over this trip at Doomben last time out. That was the first run since coming to the Heinrich/Rogers stable. Led all the way to win over 1250m at Newcastle second-up last prep. Open to plenty of improvement. MAYBE (8) ran well above expectations when returning from a 190-day break recently, boxing on well for third over today's journey at Doomben. Lightly raced mare who can go on with the job. GOZO (4) lines up for only the third time and is back from a 32-week spell. Has plenty of talent and is a big market watch with the blinkers on for the first time. I SAW THE LIGHT (6) is first-up since September 2024. Betting the key.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Divine Source to win.
8 05:49 RAY WHITE IPSWICH 0 - 58 Handicap 1690m
Rockrata and Clearly George to take up the running at a strong tempo.  TREASURER (2) dropped in grade and returned to form last start, working home powerfully to be beaten just 0.4 lengths over a similar trip to this at Beaudesert. That was his first try at the mile so he should take a lot from the run. Ready to win again. BRIGHT THE SUN (11) settled a long way back and only made minimal ground in the run home when resuming over 1350m at this track last time out. Has raced once over today's distance for a win so watch for a far better performance. ARTSPACE (3) failed over 1800m at Eagle Farm recently in a run worth overlooking. Beaten just a length over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast two back which is a better guide to his chances. GOT YOURSELF A GUN (5) overcame a poor start to work home for a close fourth over 1550m at Murwillumbah last start. Gets a soft run from gate one and should be competitive. ROCKRATA (15) wasn't far away at Beaudesert a fortnight ago and is an each-way chance with a similar effort today.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Treasurer to win the last.
