In a race without an obvious leader, either Star Of Stirling or Stolen Stock can roll them along. Hard to go past STAR OF STIRLING (3). Lightly raced staying type who has placed in three of four starts. Gelded since a break and fitter for two trials, winning the latest over a mile. Will be ready to win and in this company should go close. STOLEN STOCK (4) was placed two back then back and wide throughout and never featured in the latest. This is easier and worth another try. INSTINCTIVE SPIRIT (6) is fitter for two runs back finishing fourth at each. Further improved and races on pace. Will give a sight in the small field. PARAMOUNT WAR (5) raced on speed and fought on well for a minor placing last time over 1950m. Small field suits and will be in this for a long way. SHOWFAIR (7) is a lot better than last time and is next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Star Of Stirling.

Cousins Day and Flood And Fire look to bowl along in front. Very competitive highweight with little between the top half dozen. FLOOD AND FIRE (4) was over the hurdles last time in but has more than enough flat ability for this. Good run fresh with a big weight and strips fitter for the extra ground. Looks a good improver. SANIKA (7) has been racing well and is overdue for a win. Course and distance winner and overdue. Expected to feature. COSMIC (9) is another racing well including a two-length maiden win two back. Form is good for this and will be winding up late. INITIAL MOMENT (12) is fitter now and making headway. Strong run last time and expected to go close despite the wide draw. HERE COMES RUBY (11) is well placed this grade and should prove hard to hold out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Flood And Fire.

Plenty of pace with Equivaster and Hughie's Spirit leading from California Flyer. Even race where PURSUANT (6) gets his chance. Showed ability in his first campaign and turned in a nice run fresh when a close-up fourth. Strips much fitter and this is easier. Extra trip a plus and off the low draw should be winding up strongly. SUNSET ROYALE (12) was safely held on debut then improved nicely at second outing. Has upside and extra ground is a plus. Heading the right way. CALIFORNIA FLYER (7) was well off her best before a spell. Resuming in easier grade and looks set for a good return in this company. SLICK VIXEN (13) ran eighth on debut when back and wide and worked home late without threatening. Expected to improve sharply and has the blinkers added. BURLEIGH (4) is finding it hard to break through but has solid figures for this.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Pursuant.
4 02:40 Alta Genetics 4YO+ Maiden Plate 1406m
Moderate tempo with Racey Casey leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. RICH KING (5) looks the one to beat. Raced on speed to pace on debut at Cranbourne then finished a close-up fifth at Pakenham last time. Will find this easier and expected to go close. RACEY CASEY (14) gave a sight at Sandown two back trying to do it from the front then last start settled off speed but came home well for a close-up fourth. Overdue for a win and looks a leading player. BUTTERCUP (11) is another overdue. Has placed at last four runs, all over the sharper dash such as the five furlongs last time. Will be able to sit close over the extra ground this time and can give a sight. LUNAZOR (3) is a two-start maiden who was solid in debut when fourth then stepped straight up in ground and ran midfield before a good break. Has the tongue tie and blinkers added for this and can run well fresh. DON'T SAY NO MIKKI (1) is another closing in on a win and will be hard to hold out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rich King gets chance.
5 03:15 Ky Valley Dairy 3YO Maiden Plate 1406m
Good pace headed by Enniscrone, Bobbin Back and So Star, with Positive Image and Till Queen close by. Little between the top half dozen. POSITIVE IMAGE (5) is a two-start maiden stretching out in journey this time. Will find this easier than the close-up fourth last time and drawn for a soft run. Will be prominent and expected to go close. SO STAR (7) is also a two-start maiden who placed on debut over 1300m then found the line strongly for sixth last time over six furlongs. Wasn't far from the winner, blinkers added and extra trip a plus. Has upside and worth following up. PARISH PRIEST (4) ran on hard last time to finish runner-up. Has the big claim and expected to feature again. BLACKLIP (1) was fourth two back then not far away last time over 1300m. At his top and among the chances on best figures. TILL QUEEN (14) resumed from a long break with a solid fifth and will strip much fitter.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Positive Image.
6 03:50 Terang Co-Op Rural Store BM62 Handicap 1406m
Strong tempo with Suze Spritz and Ultra Blue leading the way over Vaderlee. Another very even race with little between the top chances but going with the leaders. SUZE SPRITZ (11) is an honest type who was a winner two back this journey then placed over a little further last time, beaten just over a length. Has a low draw and is expected to take running down. Same goes for IN HER STRIDE (1) who has a big weight but good early speed and a low draw. Veteran mare racing in top form with two wins win end before a solid placing in a tougher race at Cranbourne. Freshened since and has won only try here. Take catching. EIRE OF FORTUNE (10) was a debut winner over the winter on heavy ground then tipped out again. Was solid fresh and will be fitter for the longer journey. Has upside and wouldn't shock. LOOSE ON GIN (5) was safely held fresh on soft ground then improved sharply second-up to finish in the minors. Is a third-up winner and worth following up. SHEANADH (13) has the blinkers added and in this easier company, is worth another chance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Suze Spritz will take catching.
7 04:30 Ridley Agriproducts BM56 Handicap 1206m
Expecting Volkano to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. Keen on the improving DOBKINS (4) who returns from a break. Was too good on debut, immediately getting off the mark, then was sound in two city races, both of which were hot form references. Expect to have come on and returns in much easier grade. Might be too good fresh. The biggest danger looks to be VOLKANO (3) who is much better than the fresh-up sixth at Pakenham. Was tested in Stakes class last time in when tackling the Sires in Adelaide and will be much fitter for the fresh-up run. Expecting big improvement. HE'S GODSPEED (1) wasn't far away two back then was safely held at Mount Gambier latest but he wouldn't be alone on that tricky circuit. Best figures stack up and worth another try. PENTONVILLE ROAD (11) is closing in on a win, the latest a close-up second and should be at top now. BECAUSEYOU'RE MINE (2) has a big weight but is racing well and among the main chances.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Dobkins.
8 05:10 Logan Contracting BM56 Handicap 1606m
Moderate tempo headed by Rippa Buddy from his low draw. THE DAILY PLANET (15) was a winner here three back when he stormed home from well back to score. Has raced in two richer races since. Back in grade and Meech back aboard. Will give a start but looks hard to hold out. HANDY FRIEND (5) has been freshened since storming home to finish runner-up here last time. Both recent runs have been here and is close to a win. Hard to hold out. SHE'S IMPECCABLE (10) ran fifth behind The Daily Planet two back then charged home for third latest. Another close to a win. WILD WILLY (2) has been racing well including a last start win in similar grade over the border. Worth following up. ROCK THE BAR (1) is yet another bursting to break through and comes back a notch for this. Likely to feature again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Give The Daily Planet another chance.
