NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:30 HRC MOTEL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these at the races for the first time. TEXAS (3) well-bred three-year-old gelding by Nicconi from Outlaw Kate on debut for the Baker yard. From a strong family that has produced at stakes level. Impressed in both trials and gets his chance from the good gate with the blinkers going on. INFANT WARRIOR (5) just under a month between runs when she showed a ton of fight to secure second over 1000m at Kembla Grange. Fitter now and gets every chance. IN CIRCLES (7) Toronado filly from Lope de Field on debut for the Joe Pride yard. Two latest trials have been sound and she gets her chance in the small field. HABIB ALBI (1) Ilovethiscity gelding from Feesforus on debut for the Widdup yard. Had the two trials on his home track and sure to be in the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Texas is expected to go close on debut.
2 02:05 PIONEER SERVICES CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
Fast pace assured with Der Blaue Reiter, Balmain Darling and French Harp leading the charge. CHARKA (6) excellent return for her third prep with an authoritative Maiden victory in good style over 1000m at Gosford. Worth noting Berry retains the ride after also riding Gambler last start. Go close. HONEY PERFUME (3) smart mare unlucky not to have a few more wins on her CV, resuming. Bumped into some handy types when last in work and returns with the two trials. Leading rider engaged and no shock to see her finish over the top of them. GAMBLER (1) failed to sprint with them on the turn and warmed up late with a respectable second over 1000m at Wyong. Comes out of a strong rating contest and a win looks imminent. BALMAIN DARLING (4) sharp filly resuming. Showed a ton of ability in her first campaign and has been fitted with the two sound trials. Drawn out in the small field and stays in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 6,3,1.
3 02:40 MICWAY MIDWAY 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300m
An absence of early speed provides Zougotme with the opportunity to lead. ZOUGOTME (12) finds a winnable contest fourth-up from the inside draw. Worked hard early from the outside gate and the early effort took its toll in the straight with a fading sixth over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Will push forward again and take catching. No excuses today. COSMIC AVENGER (2) made rapid improvement at his second run back when relished the extra trip to go under narrowly with a nose second over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Stalks the speed and shapes as the main danger. THE PROSPECT (1) Trapeze Artist gelding who resumes after failing to make an impression on debut when fifth over 1250m at Newcastle in Cl1 company last October. Wasn't pushed out in his two trials and gets every opportunity from the inside draw. SHE CAN SALSA (6) Per Incanto filly from Visible on debut for the Ed O'Rourke stable. Won her latest trial in good style at Warwick Farm over 1207m. Must respect on her home track.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Zougotme and Cosmic Avenger can fight it out.
4 03:15 RICHMOND CLUB SUPER MAIDEN PLATE 1500m
Genuine tempo with Mean As leading the way. KOKATAHI (4) handy gelding who was a total forgive at his second run back when striking interference in the straight and pulling up with a slow recovery rate to finish sixth over 1400m at Warwick Farm. Caught the eye first-up and has a key jockey change for this. Genuine top-three player. FIERCE CRITIC (9) bounced off her eye-catching debut fifth, with a tenacious third over 1400m at Canberra. Maps well and the booking of Zac Lloyd is a big positive. Expected to handle the rise in class. INDIGO STAR (2) was slow into stride and then circled the field under hard riding before battling to the line with an average fourth over 1400m at Warwick Farm in a Super Mdn. Hard fit for this and capable of better. DERRY CITY FELIX (1) gritty performance on debut in the soft (7) going with a plugging second over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Since fitted with a 789m tick-over trial and looking for the extra ground.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Kokatahi looks the pick of the Waller team.
5 03:50 DE BORTOLI WINES PROVINCIAL BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 2000m
Golden Smile is likely to roll to the lead and set a decent tempo. MAGICON (2) struggled in tougher company this prep and should find this more to his liking. Up sharply in trip in the soft (7) going with a fading fifth over 2400m at Kembla Grange. Kept fresh again and expected to take a hand in the finish. MONTY BE QUICK (3) proven at this distance and looks well placed again with Stapleford's 2kg claim. Sat midfield and closed late over the unsuitable 1350m with a respectable third at Wyong. Can race handy and figure prominently. KAHRABA (7) bounced off her eye-catching sixth at Wyong with a dominant victory over 1812m at Port Macquarie. Deep into the prep and looks well weighted with Fitzgerald's 1.5kg claim. Value player who can test some of her more fancied rivals. GOLDEN SMILE (1) appreciated the class drop and extra trip when he demolished inferior opposition with a slick 7 len win over 2200m at Beaumont (Newcastle). Gets the right setup again and confidence is high.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 2,3,7,1.
6 04:30 XXXX GOLD CG&E BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1300m
Expecting Good'n'you to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. JOHNNY (4) shuffled back from the inside gate in a muddling run contest before charging late with a respectable third over 1250m at Canterbury. Big class drop for this and should get the right tempo to finish over the top of these. IN AND OUT (5) three runs back have been better than they appear on paper and looks to get the right conditions today. Came from near last on the turn with a respectable fifth over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Can race a little closer today and assess on the good second at Randwick (Kensington) two starts back. Go close. GOOD'N'YOU (9) stamped urgent from the outset with a tough on pace Maiden win over 1200m at Beaumont (Newcastle). Has the upside to go on with it now and will prove hard to run down again. SHELSTEIN (2) comes back a level for this with race fitness on his side. Snagged back from the wide gate and failed to make an impression when last over 1200m at Rosehill in BM72 class. No surprise to see him return to form. The chances don't end there.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Johnny can get the job done.
7 05:10 RACING NSW PROVINCIAL-MIDWAY CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER (PROV/MIDWAY) 1400m
Expecting a strong tempo with Bold And Blazen, Royalify and Rolling Magic going forward ahead of Ahellbenda and Just In Time. Cracking race with plenty of chances. JUST IN TIME (9) tough win first-up at Canterbury, then dug deep from the sticky draw with a courageous sixth over 1300m in the Magic Millions F&M at the Gold Coast. Kept up to the mark with a sharp 1000m trial win and can get the job done. OUI OUI OUI (2) talented mare undefeated in three runs this time in. Fitted with a searching 1207m trial win and shapes as the main danger on her home track. ROLLING MAGIC (1) tough gelding who comes out of a strong rating contest after running a respectable fourth over the mile at Randwick in BM88 grade. Undefeated at the track and will prove hard to get past. IMPOSANT (8) resumes after failing to match it in Group company early in the prep last time in. Went out a winner with a commanding victory over 1350m at Doomben last October. Given the two trials and stays in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Just In Time looks well placed from the good gate.
8 05:50 CLARENDON TAVERN F&M BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1300m
Genuine tempo from Seastraand leading Issy's Star. VIVIAN'S EXPRESS (8) underrated filly who strips fitter for this. Just over a month between runs when she warmed up late for an unlucky eighth over 1200m at Kembla Grange. Gives the impression this trip will suit and represents good value. ISSY'S STAR (6) returned for her second campaign with a fast finishing second over 1200m at Beaumont (Newcastle) in C2 class. Ready for the 1300m and anywhere near her best can win this. SHE MOVES TOO (9) beaten for early speed on resumption and never looked a winning prospect with a plugging seventh over 1250m at Canterbury. Finds an easier assignment and can take a hand in the finish. IN LIMBO (11) finally shed her Maiden tag at start eight with a sharp victory over 1200m at Wyong. Produced a handy set of figures on that occasion and can go on with it here from the low draw.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Vivian's Express each-way.
