NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:57 TAB QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap 1050m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these lining up for the first time. The babies kick us off. WASABI BARBIE (7) just ran into one better at Mackay on debut and will have derived a stack of benefit from that race day experience. Hoop Fenlon stays on top following that first-up placing and looks the one they all have to run down. SWIFT DRAGON (4) is facing the starter for the first time but looked handy winning a recent Sunny Coast trial and gets the services of Wiggins in the irons. Keep very safe. ROCKY PRINCE (3) has been thereabouts in both trials here and only needs some luck from the wide draw to be playing a role in the outcome. SPORT (5) wasn't too far away when at the races for the first time and will have come on with that run now under the belt. In the mix. GOOD ONE CECIL (1) next in line with the 2kg claim.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Wasabi Barbie.
2 01:33 GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1050m
August Joe will stride forward but there are few debutants who can keep him busy. TURBO TORQUE (3) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough to be competitive in a race of this nature. Gets 2kg off with the claim and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. WAYNO (4) is on debut here but won a recent trial in dominant fashion and rider Butler stays on top for race day. Looks all set for a bright start. AUGUST JOE (1) has been thereabouts in both starts to date over this track and trip and has race experience over a few of these. Top-three aspirations. LADY WILLPOWER (8) gets Wiggins on board and can run a race while fresh. INNOVADER (7) next in line from the inside alley.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Turbo Torque to shed the maiden tag.
3 02:12 CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM THE RJC QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap 1200m
Speed should be right on over the 1200m journey. It's hard to knock the form of ATLANTIC RAIN (3) who has strung three wins together on the bounce to start the career and winning rider Butler sticks following that last-start Mackay victory. High on confidence and should be right there when the whips are cracking. BANG STICK (2) wasn't disgraced in town before being tipped out for further time to furnish. Is yet to miss the top-five in seven starts to date and has to be included in calculations. HONOURBEFORE GLORY (5) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time out but go on the strong Mackay win when resuming. Worth another chance. SARAQAEL (1) loves it here on his home circuit only missing a drum once in six spins. In the mix. NEXT LEGACY (6) best of the rest from the inside marble.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 3,2,5,1.
4 02:47 CJB CONSTRUCTIONS BM60 Handicap 1400m
Strong pace from Presszora, Legolas and Baile Fervor. The well-related PRESSZORA (6) (half to G2 winner Amor Victorious) was a touch disappointing last time out but the four runs prior to start the career were full of merit. Winning hoop Butler reunites and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. SANTORINI SUMMER (7) returned to the winners' stall here at the latest outing and will have taken some confidence from that overdue victory. In the mix again. REPLACE THE ACE (4) strips fitter second-up from the break and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Top-three credentials. WARNA (2) also hails from a handy family (half to G2 winner Count De Rupee) and will find this easier than recent Sunny Coast efforts. One for the multiples. BAILE FERVOR (1) has won his past two in lesser company and shouldn't be underestimated.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Presszora.
5 03:27 RJC RACEDAY THURSDAY 18 DEC QTIS Maiden Plate 1400m
Genuine tempo from Wild Dust leading She's Got Lyrics. SHE'S GOT LYRICS (9) has had a few chances but has placed over this track and trip and will be rock-hard fit for this. Looks ready to break the maiden status against this line-up. The well-related GALVANIZE (3) (half to G3 winner Extreme Warrior) is facing the starter for the first time but has been thereabouts in both trials and gets Wiggins on board from a favourable draw. Any market confidence must be noted. CASH PIT (1) has placed three of six here on his home circuit and must be included in the exotics. Former Victorian SKILFUL ARTIST (4) just ran into one better when having the first run for the new stable and will have come on with that run now in the locker. In the mix. ATLANTIC LACE (8) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of hopes.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 9,3,1,4.
6 04:03 GARRARDS OPEN Handicap 1050m
Genuine tempo with Early Fusion to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. HEARTONI (1) has a solid record here over this track and trip with a win and a second from just two attempts. Gets some weight off with the 2kg claim and should be right there at the business end. DEVIL DEVIL (8) is a four-time winner over this course and distance and is better than the past couple of efforts suggest. Capable of bouncing right back. DOUBTING EYE (4) is a last-start winner here and rarely puts in a poor one. A must for the multiples. EARLY FUSION (3) is drawn to get a cosy run in transit from the inside alley and has a sound first-up record. Can run a race while fresh. LETMELETGO (2) grows a leg for hoop Wiggins who has three wins from just four steers. Shapes as a leading contender.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 1,8,4,3.
7 04:40 Kennas Chartered Accountants BM62 Handicap 1050m
Lots of speed predominantly from Universal Harmony, Kai Mondo and Highground. RED BEAUTY (9) has put back-to-back wins together over this course and distance range and it's hard to knock mares in form. Winning rider Fenlon sticks in the irons following that last-start victory and should be going very close again. KAI MONDO (4) loves this track and trip only missing a drum in once seven attempts. Gets 2kg off with the claim and can feature prominently despite the wide draw. UNIVERSAL HARMONY (3) goes well for hoop McIver who has three wins and two placings from just five steers. Hard to toss in this suitable race. TORQUE I TEE (1) should get the run of the race from the inside alley and has to be included in calculations. HIGHGROUND (8) has won two of his past three and shouldn't be discounted lightly.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Red Beauty to bring up the hat-trick.
8 05:20 Wendy Mulry Travel BM55 Handicap 1200m
Craiglea Bronte should lead at a keen tempo. EL FORTRESS (3) finally shed the maiden tag at Mackay last time out and will have taken a bunch of confidence from that breakthrough victory. Winning jockey Silvera Olivera stays on top and can go back-to-back from the inside marble. SMASHING ROSIE (6) has placed at the past couple and gets in well at the weights with the 3kg claim. Looms as the main danger. Former NSW galloper CAPITAMY (2) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this easier than what he faced down south. Respect any push in betting. OUR HEART THROB (10) is another to get some weight relief and may earn some minor money. CRAIGLEA BRONTE (7) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: El Fortress to win again.
