NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:40 HBC Commercial Maiden Plate 1350m
Pace only fair with Splash Of White rolling to the lead ahead of Secret Owl and Tiny Bay. GALILEO GOLD (3) was doing his best work late at Murray Bridge when closing off strongly into third. Draws much kinder this time, so expect Johnstone to have him closer in the run, and the added trip should suit. Bold showing anticipated. BLACK BUGATTI (1) resumes and makes his stable debut for the Jolly & Potter partnership. Has found the maiden win elusive but did show glimpses of ability in NSW. Looks to have returned in good order, readied with two solid pieces of work, and gets in well with the claimer engaged. SECRET OWL (10) has built into her debut prep nicely and will be sharpened by the blinkers going on. Can improve sharply and go very close over the longer journey. SPLASH OF WHITE (7) was good two back at Balaklava when getting within a length of the winner. Failed last time but is worth another chance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Galileo Gold gets the nod.

Looks a keen contest with Sir Aali and Rhinestone Rory pressing for the lead with Hasta La Wizard and Me Name's Boris close at hand. TERMINAL SHOCK (10) was a sharp improver second-up when beaten a long neck at Gawler. Steps quickly to the mile, draws well again and has further improvement in store. Leading player. HEAT OF THE NIGHT (7) was much better here last time when finishing third. Kept on the fresh side with a drop back to the mile and can give this a big shake. RHINESTONE RORY (4) continues to find the maiden win elusive but has been finishing around the mark of late. Performed above market expectation at Donald when showing good tactical speed and sticking on gamely into fourth. Backs up quickly and has the pace to offset the wide alley. Deserves more respect this time. ME NAME’S BORIS (3) failed to make an impact last time at Gawler but was solid two back when sticking on into fourth. Still learning and can improve sharply.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Terminal Shock.

Even tempo only with Bocheeva pushing forward from the outside gate in a race that lacks genuine early speed. GOOCHEE GAL (12) is mixing her form but has peaks that measure up. Gets in light at the weights with the claimer aboard and should blend into the race nicely from the middle draw. First time tackling this trip but it looks suitable. BOCHEEVA (1) improved sharply last time at Gawler when sticking on gamely into second after showing good tactical speed. Nearing peak now and can offset the wide alley early. Main danger. CHOPPA DE GRASS (3) was sound when resuming off a lengthy break at Balaklava. Kept fresh with a month between runs and keeps the 3kg claimer to get him in well at the weights. Longer trip suits and he looks one of the chances. THE PUNK ROCKER (9) should be hitting his straps now fourth-up, though could get too far back from the draw. Worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Goochee Gal gets the nod.
4 03:25 REQ Benchmark 58 Handicap (App. Riders Only) (Heat Montgomerie/Forrest Series) 1350m
Solid tempo anticipated with Refreshing heading them off. TOP OF THE RIDGE (1) has been freshened with 61 days after chasing gamely into the placings in town back in October. Kept sharp with a Murray Bridge jumpout win and is unbeaten here, including a win over this trip two starts ago. Draws to get the gun run for the claimer who stays on. Is the one to beat. ROYAL FOX (2) caught the eye in town last start when finishing full of running into fifth. Peaking now, though could land in a tricky spot if she’s not sharper away. GRINZINGER ACE (5) has found a purple patch of form, unlucky not to bring up the hat-trick just three days ago when missing the bob at Murray Bridge. Backs up quickly and gets in well with the 3kg claimer engaged. Genuine contender again. HIDDEN BOUNTY (4) couldn’t make it three straight at Bordertown but continues to race well enough to be competitive. Don’t underestimate.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Top Of The Ridge to win.
5 04:00 Goolwa Central Meats Rating 0 - 56 Handicap 2050m
Just a moderate speed anticipated given the absence of on-pace gallopers. FANTASTIC HOST (4) has been doing his best work late but gets the chance to take closer order this time from a kinder draw. Drops back to a winning trip on the quick back-up and gets a senior hoop in Pannell on. Can get the verdict. THE TANK (3) was poor last time in town but was ticking along nicely prior. Has a wide alley to overcome but the distance suits and he has tasted success here before. Can improve sharply. FLYING ASSASSIN (1) will appreciate the drop in grade as he returns to a favoured trip. 2kg claimer reunites and has a strong association. Can give this a good shake. BUSH INFERENCE (5) got the bob two back at Naracoorte over a similar trip, before a disappointing effort last time. Boasts a handy record over this course and distance and is a winning hope again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Fantastic Host.
6 04:35 Roadside Services and Solutions Rating 0 - 56 Handicap 1600m
Genuine tempo from Rokabye Warrior leading Friend In Me. ROKABYE WARRIOR (3) went close to making it two on the bounce last start, only getting nabbed late after showing his traditional tactical speed to lead. Backs up quickly with the rise to the mile. Expect him to prove mighty tough to reel in again. ALLEGEDLY (4) is a track and trip specialist. Pulled up lame after only managing a midfield finish when sent around favourite here last time. Can put that quickly behind him and the booking of Toeroek is a big push. HATEECH (5) is another who boasts a good record over this course and distance. Chased in vain behind Rokabye Warrior but gets a good pull at the weights now. Peaking now and keeps Holder. In the mix. GOGOLF GURU (11) comes through the same race and gets in best with the weight swing, though will probably be left with too much to do from the draw. Keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Rokabye Warrior can lead all the way.
7 05:10 The Times and Fleurieu Sun Benchmark 56 Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo with Exotic Dancer possessing enough dash to find the front. FLOREY (4) is a progressive mare resuming for the Jolly & Potter partnership. Has shown her share of ability and looked sharp in a recent jumpout. The 3kg claimer offsets the big weight and she’s expected to take plenty of stitching. TAKING OMAHA (2) has taken time to hit his straps this prep but found form when beaten a lip three weeks ago at Murray Bridge. At top fitness now and rising to a favoured trip, he looks the main danger. EXOTIC DANCER (10) cops the carpark draw but may have the speed to offset it early. Nearing peak and gets in well with the claimer staying on. Right in the mix. LADY SKYLLA (13) never looked likely first-up at Clare when getting a mile back but made good late inroads. Worth following up. MISS GABBIANO (15) finished full of running last time at Gawler in a much-improved effort. Can cause a scare late if they overdo it in front.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Florey is the best of the day.
