Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap 1200m
Genuine tempo from Bold Bordeaux leading Lady Verity. LADY VERITY (7) was a very smart maiden winner first up at Geelong, justifying the $1.45 starting price with an easy victory, landing in a good spot and showing a sharp turn of foot to put the race away. She can track up behind the speed from the inside gate and go right on with it here. TAN TAT DELIGHT (5) got her maiden out of the way at her second start at Kilmore with a dominant win, scoring by three lengths as favourite. Bit harder here but she's going the right way and can win again. CAVERN (3) was okay at Caulfield Heath last time off the back of a good maiden win. Got into a slightly tricky spot there and could now be an improver to 1200m. BOLD BORDEAUX (1) won narrowly on debut at Kyneton in a tough effort. He can land in front here and take plenty of catching down the dip. OFF THEIR PERCH (4) resumes with some claims having won well on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lady Verity to win. |

Anticipating Celestra to be prominent but one or more of the first starters should add to the early pressure. THANKS GORGEOUS (11) has had a few chances with four minor placings from six starts but looks very well placed back in maiden grade having run a cracker in the G3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes behind top filly Inkaruna. Her form is largely in better races than this and the 1200m seems to be key. Gets her chance to break through. YELLOWJACKET (13) is the danger. She was very good on debut from a mile back at Pakenham over 1000m, charging home into second. She should relish the extra furlong here and will be hard to hold out despite a tricky map. LAYLA (6) is a filly by Justify on debut for the Hayes yard. She's been trialling and jumping out well and looks to have plenty of ability, respect. CELESTRA (1) resumes having run well on debut last time in. Can improve this time around and has claims. SASS APPEAL (9) can run well on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Thanks Gorgeous to win. |

Solid tempo with Eco Express leading from She's Elusive and Olivia Rose. ALGORITHMIC (5) resumes. He ran well at his only run last time in here in a strong maiden as a $2.50 chance having been tested in some strong 2yo races the campaign prior. He's drawn wide here which is the knock for this stable but if he runs to his best he'll go close. MISSION OF JOY (16) might be the danger at odds that maps better. She ran a good race on debut at Mornington despite being beaten as favourite but should be much better for that effort and is suited going to 1200m now. ALIANO (1) ran well fresh at Pakenham when making solid late ground for third. He can land in a good spot out to a better trip and go close. OLIVIA ROSE (14) keeps racing well and has to be considered again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Algorithmic & Mission Of Joy. |

Private Jumbo and Gobbo's Mate should set a strong tempo. Tricky race. ATTAIN (6) resumes. He doesn't win out of turn but he's very consistent and is now with the Bedggood yard who have a knack with these tried horses. Like the booking of Logan Bates who is arguably the best apprentice in the state and claims a handy 2kg. If he runs to his best he's right in this. WINSOME STAR (5) did enough fresh in a stronger race at Caulfield Heath when working home late to be beaten four lengths. Better for that now and finds a suitable affair. PRIVATE JUMBO (4) resumes. He's another that doesn't win many but raced well last time in and can show up. STORMBOURG (12) didn't manage a win last time in but his best would go close, not discounting. SUGGESTED PLAY: Attain each-way. |

Winston to take charge ahead of Zorb at a solid tempo. WOLFESS (8) ran right on by WINSTON (3) when they met at Caulfield Heath a month ago, coming from midfield over 1800m to win by 1.5 lengths. Winston has had another run since then, proving too good at Kilmore as favourite. Wolfess only meets Winston 0.5kg worse at the weights for beating him fairly easily and can improve again. Both have claims but Wolfess goes on top. HANAFUBUKI (7) was big odd fresh at Caulfield Heath but ran very well for third, with the extra trip to suit much better. She can often leave herself with a bit too much to do but has good each way claims again. RICK'S CAFE (6) is racing consistently without winning, trying hard behind Station One in the Traralgon Cup last time. She's in the mix again. FAM GORMAN (4) could be an improver at odds third up from a spell. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wolfess to win. |

Sportsbet Fixed Odds Exotics Handicap 1600m
Just a moderate tempo headed by Amber Star, Fiasco Tess and Northwood Vamoose. KATSUMI OROCHI (9) is a lightly raced type who has been tested in some handy races to date. He found Listed company at Flemington out of his depth two back but ran well in a good race at Cranbourne last time and should relish getting to 1600m now. DARKBONEE (8) is the danger. His return at Warrnambool was very good when just finding one better over 1400m having won easily second up last time in. His run over this trip at Flemington before a spell behind Taken is excellent form for this. LEGEND BEAST (4) has been okay in two runs back from a spell, not far away in BM78 company at Moe last time. Peaks now and can prove hard to hold out. ONLYGOLDWILLDO (10) ran well fresh at Geelong over a touch shorter with improvement to come. Tricky draw but will be fitter and has each-way claims. FIASCO TESS (1) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Katsumi Orochi on top. |

Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap 1200m
Strong pace from Grouse Mountain and Bedtime Angel matching motors with Betwitchery close at hand. Very competitive race. GROUSE MOUNTAIN (1) has the benefit of a first up run and that could prove the difference. She was nosed out by the barest of margins over 1000m fresh but ran very well and is better suited going to 1200m here. She's got good speed, can take the lead and look to put a gap on her rivals down the dip. BETWITCHERY (3) resumes. Her form last campaign in some decent 3yo races reads well. This looks a nice race for her to kick off in. MARBLE POINT (13) hit the line strongly first up at Pakenham over this trip when left with too much to do. Her issue is the barrier draw and where she gets to again but she's got the ability. CHEWING GUM (11) keeps finding one or two better but is racing very well and will take beating with even luck from the inside gate. ESCARPA (7) tested a very smart horse in Tennessee Bound last time and that form should hold up nicely. SUGGESTED PLAY: Grouse Mountain on top. |

Sportsbet More Places Handicap 1400m
Genuine tempo with Porter leading the way. STEALTH OF NIGHT (16) is a lightly raced 5yo mare who just missed at Cranbourne first up, settling handy and going down by a nose in a tough effort. She should strip fitter for that second up rising to 1400m and with even luck early from a slightly tricky gate she'll go close. ZOURAIN (3) was a good winner second up at Pakenham on tough ground, winning with 61.5kg. He can be fitter again and measure up. SIRIUS STATEMENT (7) tried hard fresh behind a talented horse at Pakenham and should strip fitter. She draws well and has each-way claims. WATERSPORTS (19) was in the money last start when second at Seymour over 1300m. Appeals as a top-three chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stealth Of Night to win. |
